Don't know why there isn't a more sensible itinierary with 3 T20s and 3 ODIs. Nuts that so much international cricket is scheduled deep into September here in any case.

Morgan's last 7 matches I don't know why he is snapped up by teams.

In post-match interview he was asked about his form. Morgan answered wryly that his form was "always an issue". Strange that his place is never in question, or so it seems. He's so highly rated as a captain, despite dropping the ball in the Champions' Trophy and letting this match slip away. And he always comes out with pathetic excuses for England's defeats.

Is it worth Root playing in T20s in the first place? He surely has enough to do as test captain and ODI player.

T20 is his weakest suit so it would make sense to give it up but he seems keen to carry on.

It's not as though we play many of them though so I don't think it makes much difference to his workload, can't imagine it being much more physically challenging than a days practice.

It annoys me when he come in with ~8 overs left of the ODI powerplay as well so my criticism isn't specific to T20i.

Shall we add Jason Ry to this list too? His T20I record is pretty shocking. If (English) Alex Hales had the same record the knives would be out but for some reason everyone loves the Saffer Roy.

Although, if I am going to be completely fair, even Hales recent record is noting special. No 50s in his last 16 knocks.

Interesting comment made by others, now that T20 is so popular surely this should be 3xT20 and 2xODI?

Roy hasn't even done well in the other overseas leagues from memory. The last 3 years I've watched him bat, and have been to the Oval a fair few times he looks a real talent whenever he's played but I guess his susceptibility to the ball coming back at him has been an issue that international bowling attacks have exploited in both forms of limited overs cricket.

Re the structure of a tour, 5 ODIs is a joke at most times but even more so at this time of the year. That said, I didn't get to see Saturday's t20 and I'm not entirely sure I'll see that much of this ODI series.

I'm not sure if anyone really cares enough about T20i to get their knives out!

Yeah agree with others in that it probably should have been 3 and 3 have thought that about other series but recently the then upcoming CT probably meant both teams wanted more ODI practice.

I don't think top scores is a particularly helpful way to judge batsman at 7 (and he's usually lower than that). I'd be looking more at strikerate - and I think that might be even worse!

I think the media are missing a trick here. What we (or at least MF) want to see is clearly captains interviewed about their performance in press conferences.

So Eoin, what do you make of that performance?

Aw look, Nick, top of the morning to you by the way, I'm a bit disappointed. I thought I could have been a bit stronger on my answers to your ever so probing question about where I thought England went wrong and whether I was disappointed that we lost. Maybe I played that question too conservatively but I didn't want to be caught out early one before I'd chance to settle in. We'll look to take the posi'ives from this and move onto the next question.

Surely he should be near the top of the list for a rest?

From that point of view, he is now in a better position than anyone else in the team.

The only answer Michelle wants Morgan to give to any question is "I resign"

See that Morgan is averaging 53.71 in ODIs this year so maybe it's time to give Ali a rest, 12 games 4 wickets at 104.50 econ 5.63.

With no third spinner included in the squad it seems that both Ali and Rashid should play most of the games.

20/20 was lost by the inability to take wickets.

Not a single wicket to the bowlers in the first 10 overs - Windies got a big total.

Ali is ranked no 50 in the ICC T20 rankings.

Needed a genuine threat - like Crane.
