Last (or nearing the end) of the sane, knowledgeable, quiet commentators. Really sad, indeed.

TC's tones were as much a part of my nascent West Indies cricket following as Clive Lloyd's thunderbat and Bernard Julien's unfeasible huge afro.

Brian Johnstone used to tell a story of a rain break during a Test, when he thought he'd play a trick on Cozier. Johnners spied Cozier entering the commentary box during a short break in transmission and so, leant into the mic and said "So, that's the up to date Test and first-class averages for all eleven members of the England side, and here's Tony Cozier to give you the same details for all the West Indian players". Cozier was startled and signalled "No, no" but Johnstone ratcheted up the gag, saying "Tony seems a little delayed, I'm sure he'll have those figures for you any second now". As Cozier became more and more flummoxed and panicky, BJ eventually let on that they were off air and it was all a joke. Cozier was apparently livid and stormed out!

It was moving. A real shame that more of his former colleagues couldn't attend in person.

Cozier, like Blowers, is one of those voices. Like Trueman. I think Blowers should have been pensioned off years ago but I'll miss him when he's gone. Cozier was cogent to the last.

Ranks alongside Arlott, CMJ, Blowers (Yes I do know he is still alive) etc as a voice that will be missed.
