Next on the Conveyor Belt Of Crap Dawid Malan! To be fair to Stoneman he battled hard and he got a decent delivery. However, he just didn't look "in" to me in exactly the same fashion as Westley and Malan when they made their fifties.

There's a lot on Root's shoulders now. To lose a test to the Windies on home soil is unthinkable, especially coming so soon after the annihilation at Edgbaston.

So many of these guys have pretty average records at FC level. Even accepting England's FC competition is amongst the strongest in the world (hence performances there do carry value), history tells us that if a player struggles to dominate FC cricket, he'll probably struggle at Test level.

Course, there are exceptions for sure (Trescothick springs to mind as an English example), but there seems to be a systemic problem when the majority of new batsmen are averaging in the 30's in FC cricket.

So Malan nicks off for 4 but the Windies don't review. He is going to MAKE THEM PAY, mark my words.

They've done some changes at the ground , I was wondering if it's made it difficult to pick the ball up off the bat.

Malan playing red ball cricket the way Buttler does. Can't see it doing him much good.

Wow, just wow. That looked out from my vantage point at long on and again on the replay. I fear that might have been curtains if the decision had been upheld.

In reality Windies could do with an extra seamer here.

Gabriel lost it a bit with this over.

England now level with 3 down. By far the most engrossing test of the summer, this is. Could end up any way.

Well we have a lead. This test match is well in the balance. Enjoyable test match. Guess we've seen the end of Westley though but I think they'll like Malan's ticker here.
