Overseas players at Yorkshire get capped instantly because they wouldn't have time to earn them otherwise.

Asking the same question on Yorkshire's corridor messageboard had the following response:

I can understand an overseas player being awarded a cap straight away but Rudolph isn't an overseas player is he.

Wouldn't it be better if they just scrapped the capping system? Not just Yorkshire but all counties.

I'm hoping that both sides make a declaration at High Noon tomorrow and then it'll be game on.

It looks as if we shot ourselves in the foot taking the light last night. We would have had an extra hour to get the 3rd bowling point. The old pro's mentality strikes again.

Can't see the Warwickshire game being a result, after today's wash out, and an expected wash out on sunday, it looks like draw city.

Yorks had just lost a wicket when the umpires offered the light (after consulting with each other for the previous 15 minutes). If Yorks had stayed out it would just have given Lancs cheap wickets ... now if Chilton had put 2 spinners on there would have been no reason to offer the light.

And there's rain forecast for the match against Surrey, whilst Sussex get a weekend off.

Really, this Worcester/Kent replay gubbings just isn't cricket. Given the length of time Yorkshire have lost to the weather recently surely they deserve a few replays?

Pee to your hearts content lad. Headingley's become something of a batters paradise recently and any amount of juice in it to get it seaming around would be most welcome.

That's right. When I were a lad, matches got rained out and nobody worried, we just went down the pub. That were real cricket that were.

What is all this actually wanting to play cricket and having a replay malarkey?? Trouble will come of it, just mark my words.

If it were really important to get a result, we'd decide it with a game of tiddlywinks down t'pub. When old winker were a bit tiddly, he were a ripsnorting tiddlywinker, never beat ower ten seasons but

If Worcester and Kent get a replay I'm never buying Worcester Sauce or Whitstable Oysters ever again.

Maybe the counties could send Kent and Worcs off to the corner by themselves to replay and replay to their hearts' content. I know, send them to Coventry, that should do it. Hope Warwickshire won't mind too much.

So Rashid is going to miss some key championship matches playing for England under 19?

No wonder Yorkshire are spitting feathers, but this is the real downside of the centrally organised system we have where England games take precedence.
