Only 1 win from 3 against teams which are considered to be weaker than our selves, although it may considered as a bit of a run out during the winter we should have won 2, if not all 3 of our games so far...

To be fair Ravids the idea that county 20/20 is stronger than caribbean 20/20 is a myth. Jamaica and Trinidad are clearly stronger than Sussex and the win by the university team was no real surprise either. Sussex youngsters lack the batting fire power and Yardy seemed keen to give everyone (excluding himself) a bowl. It will be interesting to see how they perform against Barbados ,but I would make Barbados strong favourites unless Sussex old boy Dwayne Smith has mercy.

Given the unfamiliar conditions its not so surprising ,although we hoped for better.

So far so good at the Lancs game, currently up in Liverpool watching Sussex make a mockery of Lancs on their own turf, all over by tomorrow!

Now now Ravids ....win first brag after...BBC say

"However, Ashwell Prince may have something to say about that. The South African left-hander demonstrated all the attributes shown by Yardy earlier in the day, and the outcome of this match could hinge on how many runs he scores tomorrow (Saturday)."

give my regards to sweatsock and I hope to see you at Hove for the return

Luke Wright may well have contracted Dengue fever out in India - if true, we may well not see him at all at Sussex this year - sounds nasty.

With hardly playing a game out there, a family bereavement and now this, it may not go down as one of his most successful ventures. Hope its not as serious as it sounds

Bumble got Dengue Fever when we last went to Bangladesh. He spent two weeks laid up in a hotel room so doesn't sound good for Wright.

So Yardy steps down as captain, other than 20/20 - guess hes worried about his batting form

If he thinks enough is enough then it's best that he steps down. Just hope he gets back to his best on the pitch. Hopefully Nash will take over full time from next summer.

Well it looks like this season could be one of those seasons where we do very well in all 3 competitions but don't come out with any trophies.

Warwickshire look good for snatching the DIV1 title, 13 points ahead of us with a game in hand.

Pro40 - need to win 2 more games in a row, possible obviously but that can easily not be done.

T20 - Got to the finals, but were beaten by a better looking Yorkshire on he day.

A shame, but a good season for Sussex CCC, I hope we can go out with a bang!

So after 12 years service, Sussex are not going to renew the contract of Murray Goodwin, after an indifferent year with the bat. He may go down in Sussex's history as our greatest ever batsman, or fairly near it anyway, and he holds our two highest individual scoring records. He was an instrumental part in the many trophies we have won in the last 10 years or so - a period of unprecedented success for the county. Sad to see him go.

Interestingly there is no mention of retirement in the announcement, so perhaps a swansong for him at another county. I am not convinced that he would get runs elsewhere. He would be a good bet for a batting coaching role somewhere though, although I doubt he'd come cheap

Sweaty, I realise that hes been fantastic for you, though I did get to see him first game of the season at the Oval, when I got blagged in there. He picked up a pair then and didn't deal with Meaker at all, although to be fair that was understandable (Meaker was seriously rapid). I suspect it was anno domini for him and your head honchos have seen that.

He's probably keeping his options open. Who knows, Grizzly may even give him a phone call. Would he ever go back to play in Zimbabwe?

Great, great player sadly lost to Test cricket. What a servant and good luck to him.
