Woakes has come through nicely and Plunkett seems fairly reliable (I wouldn't read much into his very recent performances), but I think that Broad and Anderson are head and shoulders above the others that Redmachine lists (CurranS, CurranT, Willey, Wood, Stone and Ball), and I don't think there's any good reason why England wouldn't want their best bowlers available for the World Cup.
I think both may have stopped playing limited over cricket at domestic level by now. Anderson was still doing ok in ODIs before being dropped but since the start of 2011, Broad was averaging 40 with an e/r of 5.44. In other words, better than Ball and Wood but worse than Willey and Currant.

Englandís first choice seamers are good ODI bowlers, the attack just lacks an outstanding quick.

I think Anderson would still do a decent job in a home World Cup. He said on commentary recently that he was still available for selection. However, Broad is a terrible limited overs bowler.

He did say recently he was working on his knuckle ball, and I thought 'what, for Tests?

If anyone was coming back I would think Finn would be a good bet. Has two ODI 5fers and also a hat-trick and experience.

Finn and Broad both suffer from getting a lot of bounce and therefore easier to hit over the top in the first 10 plus Finn lost it years ago anyway.

As we really need someone who bowls well up front in the first 10 Anderson is a good option but I seriously doubt they're going to change course now. If the ECB were going to change their stupid rules or make an exception Archer would be playing in this series you'd have thought.

Why can no one write coherent English any more? It seems that practically every other message is gibberish these days. Either people are using their machines incompetently or those machines are not fit for purpose and should be returned to the point of sale with a request for a refund.

Windies not windows. Probably use of phones and predictive text to bkame

Re starting after English summer season started: it was in April and May so possibly. To me though first test of summer means the first home test that year.

You are right.
I just looked at May as the 1st Test but we were still in the West Indies at the beginning of May.

Big tech have embedded a worm that emits regular advertisements. But never mind. To be honest I was just trying to get a bit of approval from Michelle, but it doesn't seem to have worked ;-(
