We're f*cked as f*cking usual. Why is our batting so f*cking ****? Getting out to these ****-hounds is unacceptable no matter what the pitch. Load of f*cking ********. Get a grip the lot of you. And why the hell are our opening partnerships always rubbish? Shafayat's been rubbish this season as well - if it's a choice between him and Hales you might as well pick neither with the way it's going for both of them in first-class cricket. I suppose Hales elevation to first-class cricket as an opener is pre-mature, bat him down at 6, open with Jefferson and Shafayat and f*ck Ali Brown off.

Hang on, we're 55/3 and only 83 behind... It's early days and Shaf isn't even out!

Hope the bad light lingers and that that's stumps though.

You've got to have a rant at times like these. I see us taking a slim lead and struggling in the third innings. Hopefully our form bats in Voges and Read will take us to a 100-run plus lead, but that's the thing, it's always a 100-run lead and never more, the bowlers must get really annoyed sometimes.

Jesus dude, chill the hell out. Very unlike you this.....

Swinging all over the place at an overcast TB. Has our ground become so reliant on the weather as to what it plays like? Picking that extra batsman seems a pretty good decision at the moment.

Langer choosing to bat first? Hmmm.... Think Read would have stuck them in myself.

Yeh the guy from radio Nottingham - Hales fault partly he played no stroke and the ball nipped back but he thought it was going over.

I think he should bat down the order like aug said then get him higher up once hes found his feet

Like yams said its trent bridge overcast the batsmen will struggle and the scores will be low to middle ground

It certainly was an excellent spell of bowling by Luke Fletcher, he thoroughly deserved his four wickets and the number of times he beat the bat it could easily have been six or seven. He was well backed up by Ryan, who might not be back to full fitness but can't be far off it, and it was good to see him finish up with three wickets when it looked as though he might not get any at all. A good spell before lunch by Andre Adams, nipping three out.

Fletcher deserved to lead the team off when Somerset were finally bowled out and it was also a nice gesture by the team to wait for him to lead them off at lunchtime too. I just hope we don't overbowl him and I would suggest that he is rested when the 20/20 games come around.

I'm not too impressed with Hales opening the batting. I would have continued with Wagh opening with Hales coming in at number three. I have to say that Hales looked plumb LBW, he didn't move his feet and once again he made a misjudgment and was not playing a shot.

Super Ali Brown to the rescue though. He's just passed 15000 first class runs.
Well done lad, push on now and get something big.
We need a good first innings lead with rain due tomorrow.

Yeah hats off to Swanny on his 50 and Voges on yet another one this season!! Him and Brown have put together a good partnership here. Im not going to say anthing about hoping it continues, or Voges finally getting a ton in a Notts shirt or anything like that.................

Voges looks a different player this year.

It's early days but 1,000 runs from him could make a huge difference come the end of the season.

Unquestionably YAMS I seem to remember some discussion last season about how he might have felt unsettled having only a 'fit in' gig. Firstly for the Huss then replaced by Prince. He seems far more settled this term already.

50's for both

All out with a lead of 123 which, I suppose, has to go down as a good lead.

In a strong position, but I think Trescothick looks ominous.

Somerset -30/3, break this partnership (Trescothick and Langer) up before Stumps and we're right amongst them and well on top.

Decent day. Bit frustrating that none of Voges, Brown or Ready went on to make a real match-winning score, but we're well on top. We need to really have a go at Trescothick and Langer tomorrow. If we get one of them early then that's half the battle.

Some good news for us: Voges hasn't been selected for the Aussie T20 World Cup squad.
