Are they actually going to fly the likes of Root and Woakes back in for 3 ODI's?

I think so.
I remember Jordan flying across the world for just 4 overs.

My guess...

1 Roy
2 Bairstow
3 Malan
4 Morgan
5 Buttler
6 Stokes
7 Ali
8 S Curran
9 Jordan
10 Rashid
11 Archer

I don't think it takes much guessing, that team all but picks itself. Archer's elbow may see some more action for Wood, the two Currans will probably switch over and Livingstone may put pressure on the openers.

Billings will probably see more action in the ODI's in place of Malan.

Knowing what we do about how the pitch plays at Ahmedabad, I would suspect that England have made the same mistake with their squad selection as they did with the test squad, i.e. too many seam bowlers and not enough spinners. I suspect Malan and/or Livingstone are going to end up doing a bit of bowling.

I suspect we'll see completely different pitches that will be far more batsman friendly.

Good to see Rashid back - shame he won't commit to red ball cricket.

Notice the coverage starts at 12.30 GMT. An hour's build up for a T20 seems excessive.

Indian batsmen found them pretty batsman-friendly in the tests. Or maybe Iím confusing the pitch with batsman-friendly bowling.

...... to not use Woakes again!

Really don't see the point including Root in ODIs, we know what he can do, better to give someone else a chance and him a rest after playing four Tests.......

I agree, but it seems Root is very keen to continue playing ODIs. Perhaps nobody likes to upset him by leaving him out.

The fact Rashid has bowled the first over suggests they're expecting the dew to hit pretty soon. Ought to be a big help bowling first.

World Cup to follow in India, would think trying your best XI for the conditions the World Cup will be played in would make sense but England are hung up on pace/seam even though generally spin is pretty effective in T20Is anyway!

When in Rome......... be an England captain and think you know better.........

Hardly full. Anyway I prefer hearing a real crowd noise than the rubbish canned noise they put on for sport.

Archer strikes and only two runs off eight balls.
