Big win for the Jocks today - was pretty essential for qualification hopes.
Still a fair bit to go to see how the group shapes up though.

Comfortable win for Ireland today against Oman, which takes them to second place.
Due to some weird scheduling, what I think are the four strongest teams (UAE, Ireland, Oman, and Hong Kong) have now all played each other, with the first three getting two wins each. The other three teams have also all played each other, so it’s going to be a straight race for net run rate, unless someone trips up against Canada. |

Scotland go down to Namibia and are in serious danger of not qualifying.
At least they have a day off before a must win vs Bermuda.

That's a pretty bad loss as Namibia were looking like one of the weaker sides in the competition. O dear

A lot of games still to play - but 8 points should do it.

Yep, a country with 100x the population, but probably fewer blades of grass.

If Kenya beat Singapore today, group A becomes a real dog fight with five teams on 4 points.
At the moment, only HK, Bermuda and Nigeria can really be said to be out of the running.

I would watch this tournament if only it was on tv or streamed. Seems some really decent games and I do enjoy watching the associates in action.

Ireland v Canada is on at the moment. Looks a fairly straightforward win for Ireland to be honest. Although Ireland seem to still have a lot of players whose best days are behind them they appear to have a decent young find in David Delany who is quite sharp.

Well, perhaps it might not be as Canada pass 100 in the 13th over for the loss of 1 wicket so far. Maybe there might just be a competitive match.

The two set batsmen Kumar and Dhaliwal getting out with a few overs left mean that Ireland may still restrict Canada to a score that they can easily chase down. Indeed they next batsman, Tariq, departs first ball.

Well then. Canada win by 10 runs after the likes of KOB and Stirling fail to really fire. In fairness Stirling made a start but the Canadian bowling attack had a really strong mix of quick bowling and a couple of handy spinners. This is Ireland's second defeat and this might make it difficult for the Irish to get through.

Looking at the post table section
Finish top and you are into the finals 2nd 3rd play off to get there Loser of that game has another chance vs 4th place team. Scotland have to beat Bermuda tomorrow and that should gain them 4th - NL might have already won the group by the game on Sunday.

Both groups are still really close, although the Netherlands could pretty much grab the group win and direct qualification if they beat PNG tomorrow, as they would be two games up with two to play, and one of them is against Bermuda, the bottom team in the group. |

Perhaps post Brexit, Ireland can attract a bunch of kolpaks to play in the Irish league and eventually qualify to play for them. Otherwise their prospects continue to look bleak with the lack of new talent coming through.

Adair and Delany with the ball look alright. Very little with the bat though.

Disappointing result for Jersey yesterday. Would be brilliant if they qualified but that loss has really hampered their chances.
I think Nigeria are my favourite team now though. Smiles on their faces and looking like they are enjoying themselves.
