I don't know how often they did it, but the Sultans came second bottom after winning only 3/10 matches in the PSL last year.

Malan would improve that side.

CurranS on recent form would also improve it, surprised he wasn't in the squad considering they're resting Ben Stokes.

Today's ODI has been postponed after a SA player has tested positive for Covid-19.

Can't England have a ~9 a side practice between themselves?

Couldn't they replace the positive player and carry on?

I guess after the positive tests they need to test all of their players and get the results tomorrow.

Wouldn't be surprised if this series is cancelled. One more positive test and I can't see England being interested in playing. They won't want to isolate for 2 weeks before returning to England.

The set up in SA is some way short of the careful Covid arrangements in place in UK. Of course, over here we had the advantage of two test match grounds with hotels on site. Nobody had to leave the ground and strict distancing rules were observed off the field.
I’ve no idea what precautions were being taken in the SA camp. Just hoping the situation can be contained and there are no more positive tests.

They need to retest everyone today and tomorrow. Hope the series proceeds.

England’s players are due to return home on Thursday via a chartered flight, with a small number heading to play in Australia’s Big Bash League. They had already privately expressed some private unease about the bubble, which is not deemed to be as stringent as that witnessed during their recent home summer. Well done Steve Elworthy, for a fine job in the summer. |

I'm glad they weren't in the middle of a test match.
