Rohit Sharma showing once again why he isn't a great test batsman.
Sees off the new ball, batting beautifully with the Aussie bowlers on the ropes and gets himself out with a dumb slog off Lyon. Gavaskar ripping into him on the commentary and rightly so, he would never throw his wicket away on a road like this. |

Missed everything today. Draw heavy favourite now with the weather, which is a bit of a damp way to finish an exciting series. I can't remember a Gabba test ever being washed out, but then I can't remember a Gabba test in January either. Probably why they play it in November.

I think every time I've woken up and checked the score in this series, it's been 60/2 off 25 overs.
Ok, an exaggeration, but not a series for the openers to write home about.

Barring a complete and total collapse between now and Tea, India have probably done enough to save the game here with more rain incoming. Starc bowling much better today however, unlucky not to have a few.

A lot of starts for India but none of their batsmen going on with it to get past 50.
Looks like Australia will get a decent lead here, they'll need it to be a chance of a win with some rain forecast over the next 2 days. |

Good partnership from the replacements Washington and Thakur, getting India through to tea and reducing the lead, the odds of a draw are shortening.

India will lose this Test and with it the series, but the fight they’ve shown since the debacle of the 36 all out has been commendable. No complaints there. You can’t always say that about Indian teams away from home, so a lot of credit to Rahane here.

Lol. Are we watching the same game? India have done more than enough to draw this and retain the trophy. Lucky to get in another 50 overs with storms forecasts for the next two days. Like Tony said that partnership pretty much put curtains on a possible result. Hard not to admire India's determination and fight this series. Every other side would probably have been obliterated after that first test. Retaining the trophy is well deserved.

Second summer in a row we've had trouble with no.8s, last year Yasir Shah, today Shardul teeing off. Next summer it'll probably be Sam Curran!

Will add my respect for India standing up this whole series when what could have gone wrong has gone wrong. Utterly magnificent effort from everyone who has mucked in. They have exceeded any expectations, no matter what happens the rest of this game. Before the series, I didn’t back their batting to be up to dealing with the Australian bowling in their own conditions, but Adelaide second dig apart they have been excellent no matter that they have suffered injury after injury.
Really enjoyed the fight they showed even in the evening session with Sundar and even tail end hacks giving it a go.

That is of course assuming they don't get bowled out which I often believe would do England and other sides favours when they carry on too long trying to set a "safe" target. It may be the likelier scenarios given we're into the 3rd innings and no side has scored 400, nice 'little' 300-320 to score on the last day might be intriguing although it may fizzle out into a draw |

Aus not messing about this morning. If the weather holds I imagine they'll aim to send India in before Tea. Warner clearly playing injured. Pretty silly given that theres another test series in a couple of weeks time.

Gee that was a dreadful shot by Harris. Shouldn't be anywhere near the test squad let alone opening the batting. Schoolboy dismissal. India bowling much better now.

I'm not sure India came into today expecting to have an opportunity to win the test match, but that's where they find themselves. Pitch starting to play some tricks. If the weather stays away this could be an absolute belter of a finish.

Play finishing early again due to rain with India trailing by 324 runs with all 10 wickets in hand.
With more rain forecast a draw is looking the most likely result, I doubt India will push for the win when a draw retains the Border Gavaskar trophy for them. |

What happened to the forecast thunder storms? Will there be enough play tomorrow to allow a result? Looks like another day for Pujara to batten down the hatches.
