No I don’t have SkyQ. But my old Sky Box recently died a death and I’ve been given a new box, not SkyQ, but it is more advanced than the previous one, more intuitive, lots more features. So far I’ve not discovered if I can get iPlayer through it, but that doesn’t worry me.

I don’t actually have a problem. I can play iPlayer programmes from iPad to TV via HDMI cable. I can’t do the same with SkyGo, but there’s no need as I can just watch Sky programmes direct from the TV.

It’s just that I wondered why Sky won’t let me do it.

Only ray of light is that India played better without Kohli as captain - and he's back.

2 of Englands best players haven't played for months : neither batted well and Stokes's bowling continues to be a side issue.
2 opening bowlers have a combined age of 72 : a big risk as the tests come thick and fast
Englands opening batsmen can't score a run : Sibley had 1 innings. Number 3 is a new risk.
Our keeper couldn't catch Covid in a Scottish care home : Specialist keeper coming in - but can he score runs ?
Our spinners serve up pies - remains high risk - both spinners had spells of being crap.
Our captain doesn't even play in the IPL - this was tongue in cheek

Moeen Ali may get picked - the chances of this is diminishing.

Overall - there is now a chance we could draw the series.

It will be interesting to see who goes at 3 when Crawley and Bairstow become available for the 3rd Test.

How much longer will India stick with Kohli's captaincy? I suppose it will hinge on the result of this series but a lot of fans on Twitter seem to be wanting Rahane in place as soon as possible.

They should probably stick with him - Root had a wobble pre Ashes last year.

Bess scored more runs than Joss Buttler, Dan Lawrence and Rory Burns.

Not sure he's being dropped yet.

There isn't much else happening so yes it has. Of course C4 getting the deal later has lessened the build up.

Sets up the series nicely IMHO. Surely India have some better bowlers to come into the team ?

You'd think it ought to, but viewing figures haven't been that much more than the England Tests in Sri Lanka which were on Sky. So firstly, where are all the England fans who were clamouring for FTA coverage? And secondly, where are all the Indian fans who you'd think would've been watching in greater numbers than their Sri Lankan counterparts?

The Third Test will be the interesting one as it's a day/nighter and starting at 9am here, no excuses.

The problem is that Rahane's batting is very inconsistent, and we don't want someone captaining when their own performances would be questioned constantly. He is no Mark Taylor and we are no Australian team of 90s that we could carry him around for his captaincy alone.

Jadeja might be back by the third test. Not sure when Shami would be back as well as the fitness of Axar.

Jadeja is such a massive loss for India. It is arguably worse than losing stokes for us because he bowls so much more.
