Well they should but thankfully they're too stupid to spot a class keeper when they see one.

Anyway, great stuff Patto, fully deserved. I doubt he'll miss any games for us unless he plays, they'll send him back to play on Sunday in the Pro40 I presume. Or they should do.

Maybe our legions of England bowlers should refuse to play until they reinstate England's rightful number 1 wicket-keeper.

Just think what sidebottoms average would be if read had been in SL?

To be honest I'm quite suprised by the flak Notts players seem to take when selected for England....

Read - no one can say he's was treated fairly
Sidebottom - horses for courses only apparently
Swann - shouldn't have been picked for his attitude in SA years ago

and even before they've played for england...

Pattinson - he's only ever taken 6 2nd innings wickets (wrong)
Patel - he apparently can't field

It's all very sad really. With the exception of Read, no Notts fans have claimed any of the above are supermen! But hardly warrant the flak they take.

Its been going on for years kp i can remember randall v gatting - gatting got many chances as soon as randall failed he was out. In the end their avg wasnt much different but they always fail to mention that Randall must have saved 20 -30 runs each innings easy with his bril fielding.

Talking of fielding when they talk about great fielders randall hardly gets a mention and i can tell you seeing him many times randall was the best i ever saw.

VVS LAXMAN

Looks like he isnt coming now - what is it with Notts signings they never seem to go smoothly

Every England player gets flak, the Notts ones are no exception

Patel may be a bit porky but he fields at backward point for us in the OD games doesn't he!?

If that's true about Laxmn then it's pathetic. The BCCI won't issue a No Objection Certificate due to us having Ready and Adams by the looks of it. ******* joke. BUT CAN WE PLEASE TELL ADAM VOGES HOW LONG WE WANT HIM FOR?

Not usually before they play though.

Don't recall many complaints about Ambrose being brought in (being the last capped player) in the test team (even from us Read fans)

Same for Broad, Bopara and Tremlett (the last 4 capped players)

Plenty of complaints about them now though I'll agree.

They shouldn't get flak before they have even played

I was quoting from "an expert" on the Patel thread who wrote "Patel is one of the least mobile people on the county circuit"

So no Indian players will play in England again except for the three counties who haven't YET had a player in the ICL? Ridiculous. The BCCI are pathetic. Stuff them.

The lack of recognition Randall gets infuriates me!! People always talk about Jonty Rhodes when talking about great fielders. Jonty looks like Monty when compared with the great man Randall!!
My favorite ever cricketer. I even had the good fortune to play against him once as a young lad. The picture of him doffing his cap to Lillee after ducking a bouncer is a classic.

Top bloke and criminally forgotten about these days. God would be chuffed to carry his kit bag.
