To be fair he didn't look that impressive to me in this years BBL but kept getting the job done, maybe the selectors just think he's been lucky (not that it's a bad thing if you can keep it going!)

Fair enough, the games I watched he always seemed to come in with useful wickets may when needed.

Yeah like I say he did keep getting the job done I just don't know how exactly although that could just as likely be a comment on my cricket knowledge as opposed to his bowling ability!

Then again I'd seen almost nothing of him before this years BBL so we're only talking 20 or so overs of bowling.

So other than Christmas Eve and Christmas Day there's at least one BBL game until the end of January, I think my brain knew I didn't want to watch any cricket in Australia at the moment though so I missed the first game which went down to the last ball.

Just out of interest, why do the Brisbane Heat play in blue?!

Surely orange or red would be more appropriate?!

I'm enjoying BT Sport's coverage of both the Ashes and the BBL more than Sky Sport's coverage in previous years, tbh.

Better commentary team, apart from the preposterous Graeme Swann, who thinks he's a clowning cheerleader rather than a serious analyst.

Ludicrous. BT could save his fee and invite one of the Barmy Army into the box instead.

Had to take a sick day so get to enjoy this. Great effort from Brisbane with the bat and will be tough to chase. KP gone for 10 to a good catch, Lukey Wright hoiking it about at the mo.

Interesting to see KP outscoring Australia's top Shield batsman, Maxwell.

With Archer and Mills in the Hobart team, think my Sussex allegiance will sway me towards wishing good thoughts for them.

And with KP a team mate of Wright, it's easy to let that connection slide!!

Is Jordan playing for anyone? With those players it's amazing how bad Sussex have been really.

Brad Hogg still doing the business at 46. I'm surprised more cricketers don't play on until their late 40s in T20, a lot of them stay fit after they retire.

Don't think so. The Sussex batting has been a weakness for so many years and never addressed. Now Nash has gone too.

England players in the Big Bash that I've spotted in the squads are Mills, Buttler, Willey, Billings (plus Archer, Wright, Pietersen). Doesn't look like Rashid is playing this year having been such a success in the last one.

Double wicket maiden.

Ends up with figures of 4-1-17-2.

2-17 for Archer from his 4 overs - by far and away the best bowler in the Hobart side.

Is there no way we can sort out this 5 year thing????

He did last year but hasn't been picked up by anyone for this BBL, he was in Sharjah along with Plunkett, Bresnan and Dawson (possibly some more English players).

Yeah it's always weird seeing him and Brad Hodge out there, it's like being transported back to the 90's! Still time for my professional cricketing career yet

Jofra Archer was fantastic in a losing cause for Hobart this morning.

Shame he's go to wait several years before he's qualified for England.

Missing from the last BB - Bell, Broad, Morgan, Bresnan, Jordan, Lumb and Vince.
Wasn't Rashid playing in it last year?
