The last 2 seasons have seen a drastic improvement, think he got about 800 @ 40 odd last year, which isn't too bad.

This season he has come on leaps and bounds.

Why do you ask Maty?

Jason Brown and Lance Klusener are both being released as well as Richard Logan and Richard Browning

I'm not too sure how he got a county contract after he left Lancs to be honest. Stephen is definitely the better brother.

With two batsmen (Klusener, Crook), spinner Jason Brown and two seamers (Logan and Browning) having been released it will be interesting to see who Northants sign this winter.

Looking at SEC averages only Graeme White and Mark Nelson have scored more than 200 runs this season!

It will be interesting to see if 19 year old leg spinner Daniel Bendon who recently took six wickets in an innings for 2XI is offered a contract.

Will Bud Bailey who played for 1XI earlier this season be offered a contract?

As for the strongest XI as it stands I would probably say:

Peters, O'Brien (+), White, Sales, Wessels, Boje (c), Hall, van der Wath, Crook, Panesar, Lucas

Hopefully this will give White a chance to develop his batting and bowling. Shame about Klusener but he's had 3 great seasons at the club and didn't offer to much in the bowling department.

He is our best bowler in the CC but that doesn't really say much about the rest of them

Looking at the current squad the batting departments looks very light:

Batting: Hewgego, Nelson, Peters, Sales, Wakely, White
Keepers: Murphy, O'Brien, Wessels
Spinners: Boje, Panesar, White
Seamers: Bailey, Brook, Crook, Cummins, Daggett, Hall, Louw, Lucas, van der Wath, Wigley

On behalf of Spin Magazine...Basically, for the next issue of SPIN Magazine (Dec issue) we're putting together a review of the 2008 county season. Included in that will be a section for fans of each county - that'd be you - to have their say. A few sentences for each would be great. Our deadline is Monday next week, although if we could have your responses v.soon, that would be ideal.

So, the questions for the 'survey' are as follows:

How would you sum up your season?

Your team's player of the season?

Moment of the season?

Biggest let-down of the season?

One to watch for next year?

What does your team need to do for 2009?

Thanks a lot for your interest/participation. Our hope for this is to not just do this as a one-off, but to have a fan from each county that we can call upon for future issues.

Cheers
Jono

Anyone interested?? pm me soon.

Tc
