No surprise about Horton we've been carrying him for some time.

No chance. Not only would he not get in the team for matches at TB, for the few where spin is an option, we now have Matt Carter.

Legside Lizzy reporting that Topley could be off to Hampshire, and that Darren Stevens is looking at his options.

Three Lancs players have signed new deals with the county - Arron Lilley, Liam Livingstone & Jordan Clark (older brother of temporary Durham opener Graham).

Apparently Darren Stevens has spoken to Leics about returning there in a playing capacity combined with being assistant coach

Apparently Sussex have made an offer to Alex Blake at Kent. He's looked good when I've seen him play but his record is actually pretty pony, especially in 4 day stuff.

He doesn't play - or at last hasn't been playing - red-ball cricket anymore - not played a first-class game since September 2012, 3 years ago.

Some players just flourish after a change of county. James Burke never got a Championship match for Somerset, and now he's a regular member of Surrey's promotion winning XI. I think Tim Linley only made one or two Championship appearances by the age of 27 in spells with several other counties, then was leading wicket taker in Surrey's previous promotion success in 2011.

Neil Dexter signs for Leics. I expect he'll do well in Division 2.

Legside Lizzy has just announced this very thing on Twitter with a nod and a wink. Are you her source?

Nope, I think it might have just been good agent work as he's just signed a new contract with Kent.
