Clare smashed 14 sixes and 17 fours - losing five balls in the process - as Burnley beat Ramsbottom in an epic cup clash.

Surely it can't be a record as an AMATEUR batsman though?

Ben Harmison reportedly on the market. Gutsy player; could do a job for Derbys or Leics?

It's a no from me, doesn't really fit the bracket for what we need.

Our batting fingers crossed looks okish, what we really require is a couple of palyers in the middle to lower order with a bit of gusto about them. I wouldn't be in favour of bringing in anyone who doesn't improve our limited overs cricket.

Not good enough. Even for those two. If he's not good enough for Kent surely he's not going to cut it at First Class level?

Sandhu, Clare, Chambers, Andrew, Dockrell, Panesar and Ashraf all worth looking at.

I'd like to see us take a look at Dockrell. Doubt Mo would return.

Will he really get a game?

Just another example of the talent beginning to be swelled towards those with a greater degree of financial clout.

We could do with looking at Andrew if only for limited overs cricket.

Dockrell and Ashraf to would be useful - any inside knowledge on where these two might end up?

Ashraf's stats are actually pretty decent, perhaps at any other county his career wouldn't have stagnated. Certainly worth Sussex having a look, though I don't think Dockrell impressed on loan. I'm sure he will find a county though.

Not sure if he was out of contact but Fuller has gone to Middlesex.

I can't work out what happened to Harmison. He's always been a talented player but too often gave his wicket away having worked for, and achieved, a start. In 2013, he appeared to have overcome this problem and had his best ever season. 2014 wasn't bad either, but then he struggled to get in the side this past year, even though Nash's place quickly became vacant. I've always felt his bowling was sorely underused too.

That's been happening since the start of Two Divisions. Around half of Leics' Championship winning side of 1998 departed to better resourced counties within the decade.

How many current England players are with Divsion 2 sides? Just four? And that would be including Footitt.

Although, this past season Div Two did have the World's Number One batsman plus England's record runscorer and record wicket-taker.
