The Kolpaks cost half of a normal player so it balances itself out.

Kolpacks are cheap generally, but I'm sure Divo won't be happy for a wage cut, as a proven player in county cricket. There are plenty of counties that would be willing to take him if Durham start to undervalue him.

(Incidentally he won't be a Kolpack, he'll be playing on an EU passport.)

The Aussie batsman has an Italian passport through his father, and if he becomes a European citizen he could play for Durham under the Kolpak rule. That, in turn, would leave Durham free to sign another overseas star.

Yes I think the article got that wrong. He would come under the Bosman ruling. Chanderpaul could be a Kolpak if he was from one of the WI islands that have an associate agreement with the EU.

They are easing him back from injury. They don't want him breaking down again.

Ben Harmison finally makes a decent score. Before part timer Carberry picks up another scalp.

NZ Cricket have ordered Styris to come back home a week early as they're worried about injuries he's picked u during his time here and they want him fit for the 20/20 WC.

Lets hope Chanderpaul's Visa and work permit can be sorted fairly quickly.

Steve Harmison returns

He's back tomorrow for Durham's match v SL 'A'.

Even more surprising - He is captain for the game.

How did he manage to make such a swift comeback? Saj took 7 weeks! I hope they haven't rushed him back too quickly!

Thats what I was thinking. Maybe he's seen the competition and decided he needs to get back asap.

Durham bowling first. Debut given to Luke Evans but Cricinfo have got his profile as Laurie Evans who plays for Surrey.

Or he's just easing himself in gently.

Who is Evans? Going at 10 an over. Isn't Harmison an opening bowler anymore?
