I guess Durham are really the only club who could get away with marketing their twenty20 campaign as Men in Black. Will Smith eat your heart out!

With our T20 record I could do with them shining that gadget they use in my face to erase the memory of previous tournaments.

How would you describe Borthwicks action?

Does he turn/flight it much?

His first ball turned quite a bit. A bit fuller and it might have been similar to the ball Warne bowled to Gatting. Its too early to say how he will develop but he looks like a promising leggie.

Shane Warne

Loads of flight, a bit of spin.

I'm off to watch our emerging players take on Bangladesh A shortly.

I hope we play Scott Borthwick. I've only seen him on TV and he looks like one hell of a spinner.

Although it was a low scoring game, it was exciting to watch. Who needs T20?

I can't understand why Durham don't place more value on Davies. He is the best bowler but comes on after Onions, Throp and Plunkett and sometimes doesn't even get into the team. I think he should be elevated to open the bowling.

Not at present I would have thought. Went to the A game on Sunday and Muchall was nervous as hell early on at the crease, didn't look comfortable at all. As time went on he grew in confidence and hit an unbeaten half century - not much but vital in the context of the game. I think he'll get another chance but at the moment they seem happy to stick with Harmy jnr who gives them more options as he bowls as well.

Muchall shared a room with Anderson at the Academy in Australia in 2002. 6 years later and he can't get into the 1st XI?

Are you suggesting the two events are linked?

Get back into the first XI would be more appropriate. He enjoyed a long run in the first team but has done little since his double century a couple of seasons ago.

Onions really has moved down the pecking order at Durham. He was 4th change and didn't get to bowl until after Benkenstein WTF?

In the 20/20s Pollock and Plunkett opened the bowling and quite a few times Plunkett was more economical than Pollock. I would have Davies and Plunkett opening with Onions and Throp coming on after them.

I thought that was odd too.

Cook also dismissed reports linking the county with a move for Dominic Cork, who this week was told he will not be offered a new deal by Lancashire.

Options
The former England seamer has been rumoured to be heading to The Riverside but with Steve Harmison, Liam Plunkett, Graham Onions, Mark Davies and Callum Thorp on their books, Durham do not need another bowling option.

"We've got a group of young bowlers - Onions and Davies, Plunkett - so we've got plenty of those guys," Cook added.
