nothing about it at all, the board wouldn't assure Houghton he had a contract next year.

to be honest we've been been this year and although Houghton has done a good job is time for somebody else to take us further because dave's taken as he could.

well we are flying now with two wins in 2 games!!!

seriously though we shuold be pushing for promotion in this one day league if we get selections right we have a pretty strong team however Taylor is not bumming somebody up top like Smith so he can't get in the side grrr, i'd like this side:

Birch
Dighton (not really convinced by this sort of player though)
Birt
Taylor
Katich
Smith (again not convinced and maybe Redfrn should be given a go here)
Botha
Pipe
Wagg
Lungely
Dean

Wouldn't Klokker be a better option behind the stumps than Poynton, whilst Pipe is out?

i suppose its a bit of experience for Poynton and he has kept pretty well, all of are youngsters are 17-19 which means we don't really have anyone to bring in who is at the right ages (20-22) but then thats because the acadamy has not been long set up.

next year is going to be rather interesting and we need to sort this coach business out ASAP so he can start his rebuilding process.

Taylor will not be here because of selection favouritism which is yet another complete balls up from the ever reliable men in charge. Who the sole overseas player is will be interesting, we can't afford to carry Birt again next year and i'm not sure Katich will even want to stay on.

A Derbyshire thread??

Me and my brother represented Derbys at the twenty20 finals yesterday. We got some very sympathetic looks when we told people who we supported. No-one could quite bring themselves to take the mick...

We keep thinking one day there will be a finals day where we're actually playing...One day...

Welcome to the board... Maty will be glad of the company on this thread

(the Glamorgan followers are also feeling a little blue at the moment, so anything you can do to cheer them up...)

Welcome to the board THM. On the Lancs board there was a rumour that Chris Adams might be in line for the Derbyshire coaching job. That will interesting especially since I doubt you could match his current wages which if the rumours as they are correct are very high for a county pro.

i think we have approached him but then i don't see him jacking in Sussex just yet, Adams was fantastic for this club and was forced out to be honest when he wasn't given the captaincy.

what has happened to Boyd Rankin?? is he still alive?? the most injurt prone man in the wolrd after Lee Morris!!
