He's just another bits and pieces allrounder like Smithy then, except cannier with the ball and more left-handed with the bat

Smithy who?? Greg??? greg can bowl spin or quick or medium pace you know.

Botha can spin a ball to be fair but hasn't really performed aswell as as this year since he arrived, probably a better batsmen than bowler but for some reason just keeps underachieving.

bits and pieces is an insult though, he is probably our best player after Katich and maybe Wagg.

Stubbo has had a rather poor year

the only players who have performed are Waggy, Boats, Lungely and Kat, oh and Greg Smith has done fairly well.

christ knows what happened to tom lungely this year, he has been incredible its like some kind of hulk like transformation!!

only one has taken more wickets this season......Andrew Caddick.

I can't remrmber the last time we had thre bowlers who had taken this many wickets at this stage, we have 3 of the top 5 wicket takers in the division however that makes it glaringly obvious that the batting has been way below par (Kat aside who actually is the divisions highest scorer) with only one player in the top 15.

Statistically Ant Botha also has the best record for a spinner eligable to play for England so why does he not have a new contract yet?!

next year we need to bring in one more bowler and two batters and then we should make a serioys promotion bid

well well well its all gone up the creek!!!!!!

firstly its a shame Ant couldn't be given a decent send off since it all happened so fast but you can't really blame Ant he has been a good servant over his three 3 years at the county with Clifton before that. Botha is 31 and wants trophies so i won't hold that against but he really is a very good player to lose

Next is the Chris Taylor issue, what on earth is going on here it is just ridiculous! Taylor should never have been dropped in the first place, he is no way a super batsmen but he is a decent one who is a far better option that deadwood like Hasan and Weston.

Finally just what is going on with our batting?? take yesterdays last ession its like they were playing with some couldn't care less attitudes and had better places to be. Just look at the state of it;

Weston: I thought he would be a good reliable signing but he looks well past his best now and very much deadwood

Stubbings: Having a poor year compared to the last few where he has made over 1,000 runs. Stubbo has been subject to joke management like Taylor, why on earth was he batting at five against Essex and why was he dropped before the likes Weston.

Dighton: Looks like he'll be here next year which isn't to bad a move i guess but he yet to make a big score despite some promising starts but he looks slightly useful in this order.

Smith: Has actually improved this year and looks like he could be a handy all round cricketer however batting him at 4 is just ridiculous but is one of a few who can slightly hold his head high.

Birt: he will not be here i hope next year, this year he has been dreadful except when he plays at Bristol.....

Katitch: the sounds don't sound massively promising about him returning but would you blame him???

obviously others have played like Redfern who i won't judge yet and Birch has had limited chances.

So no Katich next season then. Says he wants to try and get back in the Aus squad. Can't blame him.

Well done to Lungley, Wagg and Botha all passing 50 wickets this season. At Lancs the only bowler to pass 50 is Murali.

Never mind. I was surprised to see Clare playing today after getting 12 and two overs for 20 in the Pro40 game. Two wickets today. As Read is a favourite of mine it's funny to see Read b Clare. What has happened to the new Lungley?

Read was hardly bowled! He was caught by another fast-bowler, probably indicating that he was trying to hit Clare out of the park...

I didn't mean literally bowled, just that Clare was the bowler. A wicket is a wicket however he got it.

Look, I'm just bitter at Worcestershire's shiteness, and I need all the solace I can find. By the looks of it, you're not too happy with life at the moment either, and looking at the Hove scorecard I can hardly blame you...
