So will you be telling us the answer, hinting at it or staying fairly quiet on the matter?

I'm already aware of the social dynamic of the mid-90's Hampshire dressing room, because one of my coaches was a 2nd XI player there.

Did this dynamic persist into your own dressing room? I knew there was a reason you chose Peterhouse.

I'll say no more and only partly because I feel shocking this evening and need to go to bed and sleep for a month (or at least until my son wakes me up).

They weren't known as 'Happy Hampshire' for nothing.

Nicholas was a bit of a bon viveur, champagne drinking type, and I think that it's fair to say they enjoyed the good life at 'ampshire. Remember that David Gower was there for a while too and Robin Smith.

Simon Hughes made his debut on TMS today. He is a summariser but as we expected he is doing a bit of analysing as well. I thought he was good, and will be a welcome addition to the team, but possibly he was a bit nervous or too eager to impress today (understandably), talking rather too much early on and anxious to deliver all the anecdotes in his repertoire as soon as possible.

Bad news: Ian Ward is presenting Sky's live play from the studio.
Good news: Charles Colvile and Bob Willis are doing the highlights.

I'm surprised Nasser and Athers aren't out there. And Gower isn't presenting, which is less of a surprise. I want his job to be honest. I bet he gets paid a fortune and works for about 3 months a year
