James Anderson

Well a new home needs a new thread.

It looks like the team are all fit and ready to travel on Friday. First objective to get to the super 8's.

Well done, kys. We know what's important.

I thought the injured players had to prove their fitness by 1st March and this will be announced. Are you saying that Jimmy has definitely been passed fit already?

1st March is only 20 minutes away Michelle so I certainly hope Jimmy has proved his fitness.

Vaughan said both Lewis and Anderson were fit to travel and that the worry was Lewis hadn't any cricket but would bowl 10 overs in the warm up games. Anderson hasn't had any either but he wasn't mentioned.

Maybe Vaughan means Anderson has been bowling in the nets at Lancs since the 19th, batting and doing fielding practice whereas Lewis might have been resting his ankle at Gloucs.

England have also had fitness concerns over Kevin Pietersen (rib) and bowlers James Anderson (back) and Jon Lewis (Achilles) but Vaughan insists all are ready to travel.

He added: "The only question mark has been Jon Lewis because he has not had any cricket but he will be looking to bowl his 10 overs in the warm-up games."

I hope that's what he means. Surely he doesn't still not want Jimmy in the team?

After his good bowling in Australia it might be Lewis and Plunkett. It's up to Anderson to do well in the 1st warm up game. Neither will be bowling in the evening and will find it much harder to take wickets.

Vaughan did say that Anderson has come back as a better bowler after playing a season with Lancs saying he had a ball that swung into the left handers and then away. In the end it might just come down to batting. I would be devastated if he didn't play. I am hoping for him to take his 100th wicket in the West Indies.

This just had to be the place to post my first message. I was getting a bit worried that Anderson won't be fit to go to the World Cup. I even had nightmare about it this week. Was very glad to wake up and find that it wasn't true! And no Anderson should definitely be in team before Plunkett.

Anderson should obviously be the first bowler on a ODI teamsheet

Nice to see Anderson is not at the bottom of the list.

I was surprised that England weren't at the bottom of the list for scoring runs in the last 10 overs (since 2006) -

South Africa - 7.25
Australia - 7.18
New Zealand - 6.63
England - 6.43
India - 6.23
Pakistan - 6.09
Sri Lanka - 5.90
West Indies - 5.78

I'm very surprised to see WI at the bottom - though I suppose if they don't have a Chanderpaul, Lara or Gayle or Bravo they don't have huge firepower

Hopefully he will be hitting his straps straight away. England need a fully fit and firing Jimmy if they are to make any impact on this tournament.

According to the BBC he was only bowling off a shortened run up in the nets which is a little worrying.
