He's an OK bat at 6 or 7, but if he's going to be mainly a batsman we can probably do a bit better. (I'd rather have kept Spriegel for a start.)
Pears will be in the market for a new keeper now that Scott has been released.

Sounds promising. We originally heard Batty was staying an additional year to help a couple of youngsters come through but that was clearly duff info.

This morning Lancs have announced that they've released Sajid Mahmood.

So does this mean that they have a replacement?

Mahmood and Tahir released but what about Newby? Will Bailey, Davies or Reece be offered contracts? Will reserve batsmen Agathangelou and Clark be retained? Any news on whether Lancashire are going to sign Shahzad on a permanent basis?

I would guess they want Shazhad on a perm deal. I wonder if anyone else will want Saj or whether he will leave the game.

Poor Naqaash. Wasn't really given a chance at Lancs, was he?

It's not surprising considering the number of seamers they always seem to have at the club. It was a weird choice of move on his part imo. I think he was injured quite a lot anyway.

Harris to Middlesex, unfortunately- http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/19695201

Brooks seems less likely to make the move to Lord's now so perhaps other counties who were interested in Harris may take the 'second prize' instead...

And as Middlesex strengthen their seam bowling, Steven Crook is being linked with a return to Northants.

Isn't Jack Brooks supposed to be Yorkshire-bound?

So, despite him not going to Notts, he can still legitimately be dubbed 'Pasty'.

With murtagh trj and Harris Middlesex have as good seam attack as there will be next year. Harris breaks easily doesn't he?

He does seem to have missed quite a few games in the last two years. Maybe that's how Middx acquired his signature over Notts, London being a better city in which to spend one's frequent days off?

To suggest that Harris is injury prone is misleading.
e.g In 2011, only 2 seamers in world cricket played more first class games than Harris (Adams, Vaas) so the injury he sustained at the back end of 2011 season was an over bowling injury. He'd been bowling solidly since the beginning of January on the Lions tour (during which he bowled more than any other seamer on the trip) until his injury in late August.

Due to medical staff being unable to precisely identify the exact nature of the injury he missed the first half of 2012 county season.

He was 21 years old when the injury occurred - and the injury was ineviatable with his workload !

Glamorgan have been guilty of chronically over bowling the young man due to the despairation of their plight. I would be surprised if that unhealthy workload was not a contributory factor in his leaving (coupled with the unhelpful wickets at Cardiff).

Seconded, and welcome to the board.

I hope you'll stick around, as we could certainly do with some Middlesex fans on here - the Middlesex Thread hasn't had a post for over 2 years.
