As you say, at busier games members will appreciate a dedicated area - but at these games there are usually wider facilities available for the public, such as more food outlets open.

At The Oval, for example, at CC games in the pavilion there is i) a restaurant ii) a hot food cafe and iii) an indoor bar with a cask beer. The great unwashed, however, have to make do with one desultory kiosk, which runs out of sandwiches if it's a nice day.

Do they think non-members have a smaller appetite, i.e. that of a mouse?
What's really annoying is walking round the ground with a wallet full of cash and a hungry belly, and seeing that the diverse food units which serve the international games are all closed.

Now, I don't expect them to be open for CC matches, But, it surely can't be beyond the capabilities of a club of Surrey's magnitude to invite tenders for a burger-van franchise at the very least? Even Beckenham can manage that!

It looks as if the period around the second half of July is when I may have most potential free time to come over and watch some cricket.

Unfortunately, during the period July 14-August 1 - i.e. then - there is just one round of CC matches - and in fact not even a full round, as it's 3 division one matches and 3 division 2 matches.
