Could this action be the most pointless Test Cricket to be ever played.

Efforts to get or keep play going in the last few days have been unacceptably incompetent. But now that the ground has been dried out and the sun’s shining, the game has to go on. Cricketers are paid to play cricket. There’s no get-out clause that says “sod this, let’s all go home”.

A possible entry into the PLF thread? I really can't think of anything else.

I was due to play a game myself yesterday but as we were about to start we had torrential rain for over an hour and a flooded outfield. Of course with a pavilion and a bar in service we retired there as you do. Much discussion amongst our club with most folk working at home commenting that this summer has probably meant more actual watching of cricket on television than they would ever likely do. Of course this test being an exception with so little play having taken place.

There was also some discussion about the TV show "Loose Women". I think it was about some guy who went on to marry one of the main members of the show. I know the identity of neither whom they meant, despite in theory more opportunity to watch that show as well. For some reason, I've never got round to it!

I have never watched Loose Women apart from the odd couple of minutes while channel hopping.

I'd heard about it and the first time I saw it I was very disappointed that it was a chat show.

PLF secured for Crawley. Rob Key salivating on comms, but whether that's about his county mate's batting or what he's ordered for dinner on room service, I'm not sure.

Another strangle for Sibley.

Time for Trott to earn his coaching stripes.

Must be a sickener getting out in a game like this and ruining your batting average.

There's a trailer for that show that keep playing during commercial breaks at the moment and I have to hit the mute button every time it comes on. It appears to feature a collection of the most unbearable B list female television presenters all in one place.

One thing why do the players in tests have to isolate at one place while the Bob Willis trophy matches can be played in grounds with no hotel on site?

A reason would be players coming into UK from West indies and Pakistan needing to be quarantined during their tours. Also, when they return afterwards, they have been in a contained locale.

45 mph winds expected at the ground on Friday which is day 1 of the third test.

If Curran is bowling into the wind we could see the first ever ball bowled that actually goes backwards.

I think we can guess which Lancastrian bowler won't be bowling into the wind

Especially as they can't actually go home only to the stands where the hotel is.
