Another drop in the slips. This time Sibley drops one off Broad.

Good start from Jimmy. Bad drop from Sibley although it was possibly Burns’ catch.

Jos on -8 already. Jeez he’s crap with the gloves.

Broad needs to pitch it up a bit more.

To be fair to him I'm sure one of those was a bit of thigh pad, probably still should have been stopped though.

Woakes almost getting a free one with a trickle on to the stumps, bails don't move though.

Really sloppy from England this morning in very favourable overhead conditions.

The slips seem to have a case of Buttlerfingers.

Sooner we pick the Overton brothers the better. Their bowling might not be good enough but their slip fielding is as good as it gets! I guess it helps that their hands are enormous

They've got a case of the Flintoffs have they?

Speaking of quick bowlers in the slips, Jimmy used to be pretty good there didn't he?

Yep. They are enormous. They look funny in a slip cordon with hildreth as they look like they should be uncoordinated and useless. But they are brilliant.

Ignorance of county cricket among the pundits really winds me up. Nick knight (who is awful at the best of times) did not know Kerrigan had signed for northants even with all the clues provided by athers.

Just need to explain something to you guys. Down here, we're currently experiencing something called summer. This is typically characterised by periods of hot, dry weather punctuated by dramatic thunderstorms and heavy rains. Unfortunately these are a bit unpredictable and so hard for cricket schedulers to work around. This is a bit different to deciding to play cricket in a city like Manchester, where there are 12 months in a year but each one is October.

I am struggling to get interested in this test as the forecast makes it look a nailed on draw. Then again with such dodgy batting line-ups and good bowlers it might be a result I suppose.

It would help if they could catch mind you.
