God, it's been ages since England and Australia have played cricket against each other.

Without checking, it's seems we are in England every year for some form of cricket.
These two series don't really excite me at all, obviously the players will be allowed to leave Australia because it's essential business ( Yeah), unlike the rest of us mugs who can't even leave our states, to go and see family members who are sick.

Normally I'd be moaning about another Aussie series but this year I'll take whatever we get.

Sure, why not I guess. Results feel utterly pointless but at least it'll be a distraction.

So with all these games being played in Southampton and Manchester i'm assuming they'll all be washed out too?

Why don't they play them at Grace Road.
I always stay at the Premier Inn in Braunstone Lane when I watch Leicestershire.
Excellent accommodation & a 5 minute coach ride to the ground, no spectator's, what more do you need.

Got through the summer with 0 Test players catching COVID-19. Originally 30 named in the England squad in case of needing Covid replacements.

Gosh, you have my sympathy. The (hopefully temporary) lockdown here in Greater Manchester is mainly just about how many people can meet up, and where.

Thanks. Weíre fortunate in that we live near a park and some nice cafes (they still do takeout).

I hope your lockdown works. This current form of lockdown has been going since the start of August, but we havenít been able to meet up/go to restaurants etc since mid July which was ineffective at curbing numbers. Appears to be working now though.

'That has been the protocol following by both sides during England's series against West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland but Australia's bowlers will not be allowed to use sweat from any part of the face, neck or head during the T20I and ODI series next month'.

More likely to catch it from sweaty hands rather than face, neck, head. It's not going to matter much as hardly anyone shines the white ball.

In the last Test saw the 4th umpire giving drinks to the onfield umpires without gloves.

Some may have seen these before, but a couple of Tenable cricket questions of which one is aussie related :

- name the last 10 England Ashes captains
- name the top 10 West Indies run scorers in Test cricket

I got all but the 10th/furthest back of the Ashes captains, not quite so great on the West Indians but got 5+

Seems rather bizarre, presuming they'll have the same restrictions in a bubble that WI/Pakistan/England did, I can understand the saliva for the optics.

Root, Cook, Strauss, Flintoff, Vaughan, Hussain, Atherton, Gower, Botham, Cowdrey

Chanderpaul, Lara, Gayle, Richards, Sobers, Greenidge, Sarwan, Hooper, Weekes, Worrell

Got to 8 on the West Indians then struggled to think of batsman who had played that many games so went old school, Walcott was next.
