Who is left in the PSL?
I'd say Billings and Roy will be missed. Morgan had only 1 good game 88*.

Bopara - 10 games 119 runs at 13.22 HS 33 s/r 96.74/ 0 wickets econ 10.00
Pietersen - 9 games 255 runs at 34.42 HS 88* s/r 151.57
Jordan - 6 games 26 runs at 26.00 HS 16* s/r 86.66/8 wickets at 16.37 econ 6.89
Malan - 6 games 175 runs at 29.16 HS 56 s/r 138.88
Morgan - 6 games 136 runs at 27.20 HS 80* s/r 103.81
Billings - 5 games 133 runs at 44.33 HS 78* s/r 135.71
Roy - 5 games 173 runs at 43.25 HS 60* s/r 151.75
Mills - 5 games - 1 run at 1.00 HS 1 s/r 50.00 /7 wickets at 20.71 econ 7.25
Duckett - 2 games 30 runs at 15.00 HS 16 s/r 88.23
Wright - 1 game 12 runs at 12.00 HS 12 s/r 171.42

Mills, Duckett and Wright miss out today QGvIU. Wright still sitting on the bench.

67 from 36 balls. B McCullum is bowling 15th over. Has never bowled in 20/20s before. Something a bit fishy here.

Samit Patel joins Zalmi.

Yeah, Wright hasnt had a go yet has he? lol

duckett hasnt done well.

Whats really interesting this time round as oposed to last year is tha twe're seeing a lot of non international Pakistan players stealing the show, Talat last night, Hassan, Umer, Zaman and all these guys.

This is what such a league should be about.

Bopara went from MVP last season to invisible man this season. Then again, wasn't that the case with KK throughout?

Hope the final goes well tomorrow and props for the Zalmi players for making the trip. I'm picking them as winners.

Karachi Kings still kept picking him though, mainly as a batsman.

329 runs at 54.83 - 11 at 13.81 - 2016
119 runs at 13.22 - 9-0-90-0 - 2017

Quetta Gladiators XI will feature a combination from Bangladesh's Anamul Haque, South Africa's Morne van Wyk, Zimbabwe's Elton Chigumbura and Sean Ervine, and West Indies' Rayad Emrit who have all agreed to travel to Lahore. They are not quite like-for-like replacements for Kevin Pietersen, Rilee Roussow, Luke Wright, Tymal Mills and Nathan McCullum but organisers will be relieved that they do at least have an overseas contingent to rely on for the final.

Peshawar Zalmi Officials are confident that Sammy, Marlon Samuels and Dawid Malan will make the trip. The status of Chris Jordan was, until Saturday afternoon, unclear as he awaited clearance from the ECB to travel. Their fifth player, England allrounder Samit Patel, has not been given an NOC by his county Nottinghamshire, and will not travel to Lahore.
....

Late on Saturday, however, league officials confirmed that Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Chris Jordan and Dawid Malan would be playing and were due to arrive in Lahore early Sunday morning - the delay in confirmation was due to the wait for Jordan's clearance from the ECB.

Yep, awesome stuff frm the Zalmi lads and they are all crediting Sammy for their confidencei n going to Pakistan, so ultimately, a massive round of applause to Sammy. The guy has literally become the most cheered cricketer in a country of 200 million or so lol

I have always felt he was an underrated leader of men. I loved the stoic look to his face when he captained WI to the world t20 after everyone doubted them. West Indies loss has been PSL and world t20 leagues gain.

I think this had to do with the amount of time spent in England so he will be heading back to Sussex without completing the series. Maybe Sussex have a pre-season tour but that wouldn't be held as time away from England.

Gladiators must be a very strong side if they can bat Jofra at 10 as they did today...

I haven't followed the draft aspect of the PSL and find myself at a loss understanding all this- I mean, why would you release Shaheen Shah Afridi?

What are the Ambassador and Mentor categories about? Do they get an extra Ferrero Roche?

Why would anyone release Rashid Khan?

Since psl has been of no help (BOO!) I tried to look at last years' draft and figure it out by myself.

The problem is- the last years draft seems fairly uncomplicated- every team retained 9 players before the draft-
2 PLATINUM (Pl), 2 DIAMOND (Di), 2 GOLD (G) and 3 SILVER (S) category players.

In the draft itself, players were sorted in the aforementioned categories in addition to a Emerging player(E) category. In addition, there was a 5 round supplementary (Sp) draft.

So, in the draft the teams could add upto 12 players- 1 each of Pl, Di and G; 2 each of S and E; and upto 5 Sp players.

On first view, I concluded that the good players released- like Shaheen and Rashid were part of the Supplementary draft and hence HAD to be released. But Colin Munro was also a pick from the Supplementary draft but is now somehow a Pl player for Karachi. So, I still don't know how it works.

Also, this time different teams appear to be retaining a different number of players in different proportions and I don't understand the mechanism for player promotion and relegation either.
