Sounds like a cracking match between WA v NSW - Hauritz and Nicholson almost got NSW home but Edmondson's bowling at the death (3-0-14-0) saw WA to a one-run victory. He seems to be renowned for his death bowling and he did well for us in one-day cricket during his spell here last year.

Yes good win by WA yesterday over a pretty strong NSW side. I think the Warriors could well be the big improvers in the Aussie domestic comp. this season. They have a talented batting line up with guys like Voges, North, Rogers, Ronchi etc. & they are now being coached by ex-Sri Lankan coach Tom Moody, who is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in world cricket.

Video highlights of WA win. Some pretty good fielding right at the end. Hope the link works.

Queensland are exterminating the Tassies, bowling them all out for 158 and scoring 359/6. Noffke did the damage, 5/33.

Tasmania managed to salvage a draw in the end though - 457-5 in their 2nd innings (Di Venuto 178). Noffke got a century for Queensland in addition to his five 1st inns wickets.

Centuries elsewhere for Dave Hussey and Matt Nicholson. Ben Edmondson took 4 wickets for Western Australia but WA were then bowled out for just 99 against NSW.

Queensland really did rue their missing bowlers, and boy has the lack of experience shown.

I see the cheating umpires have stitched us up again.

Well the umpire was probably blinded by Cossies stomach

Besides it makes up for the 5 times he got thick edges (So loud the deaf ******* at fine leg heard them ) against us at the Junktion and all appeals were turned down as he made a very rare century

Must have been some dud Victorian umpiring. Yep it was!

Yeah Cossie was lucky the umpire gave him one of his rare centuries there, otherwise he would have only made as many as Hodge that year...

I should have known that after talking up WA as being the big improvers & having a talented batting line up, that they would make a fool out of me. Not sure how they only made 99, the pitch couldn't be all that bad for batting if a tailender like Nicholson can make a hundred.

Looks like Rogers has probably blown his chance of overtaking Jaques for the Aussie opener spot.

What, you mean the same Brad Hodge who was too busy making double centuries against test nations to rack up runs in the Pura Cup?

Wasn't he dropped having hardly made a run in that innings? Having said that, the same was true of several of the many big individual Aussie scores in that series.

Not sure - the Brad Hodge I'm talking about played more Pura Cup innings than Cosgrove yet scored 300 less runs.

Mark Cameron has had a lot of injury problems throughout his career but is just starting to fight his way back into the NSW side. He played in 2 Pura Cup matches last year where he took 9 wickets and conceded 203 runs, and he's just begun this year with authority taking 5 for 33 and tearing through Western Australia's top and middle order (compare this with Edmonson who just cleaned up the NSW tail). If Cameron plays the entire season for NSW, they'll be hard to beat.

On another note Phil Jaques is not out on 73 in his second innings, and a big score here will mean a significant lead ahead of Rogers in the race to claim the vacant test opening spot (remembering that Jaques comprehensively outplayed Rogers in the recent test series against Pakistan A).

Victoria and NSW both look set for very convincing victories. Doug Bollinger currently has figures of 5.2-2-3-3.

I see the '2-spinner' selection policy has been another resounding success for SA. My suggestion is DON'T DO IT!
