Hmm, now there's a thought. Get paid to lie back and think of England? But I don't really know who's in the team.

No I couldn't prostitute myself like that.

Sometimes I don't think the selectors do so of course you could prostitute yourself. I mean here's a theory you demand to sh*g the wag of a player and that player is in the team. Simple really.

Sh*g the Wag?

Sounds like an idea for a new game show. Noel? Are you free?

Got it pretty right c5:

Cricket Australia Chairman's XI Luke Ronchi (WA) (c), Cullen Bailey (SA), Doug Bollinger (NSW), Callum Ferguson (SA), Aaron Heal (WA), Phillip Hughes (NSW), Mick Lewis (Vic), Lloyd Mash (Vic), Greg Moller (Qld), Tom Plant (SA), Paul Rofe (SA)

Most not good enough to get into their state sides.

NSW playing QLD at the SCG today. A pretty useful lineup for NSW:
PA Jaques, EJM Cowan, MJ Clarke, SM Katich (c), B Casson, BJ Haddin, GM Lambert, B Lee, SR Clark, NW Bracken, SCG MacGill

Qld also with some of their internationals back:
ML Hayden, RA Broad, CT Perren, DJ Doran, CD Hartley, JP Maher, AJ Nye, MG Johnson, AA Noffke, CP Simpson, GJ Sullivan
according to Cricinfo no Symonds or Hopes which is a little surprising.

Cricinfo was wrong: Symonds is playing for Queensland (not Nye) and I think Dom Thornley is playing for NSW, not Casson.

In the Vic v WA game, Victoria get Hodge back, and WA will include Hussey, Gilchrist and Hogg.

Should be a really interesting Pura Cup round.

Also of interest is the form of 23yo Tasmanian allrounder Luke Butterworth, who was the man of the match for Tasmania in last years Pura Cup final (in that match he scored 66 and 106, and took 4/33 in the first innings).

He didn't play for Tassie in their first Pura Cup match this year as he was recovering from injury, but put in a good performance this week in a second XI four-day match againt Victoria. With the bat he scored 114 and 223 (over half of Tasmania's runs) and in the first innings he took 5/40 from 16.4 overs. If he can bring performances like this to the top level we won't be worrying about Shane Watson's fragility for long...

Contrasting fortunes for some of the big names today - a century for Hayden, a third-ball duck for Hussey.

Vics got a reminder there is a huge difference between SA and any other team, shocking performance even after restricting the 3 ODI players from WA to a total of 29 between them (All scored by Gilly )

Is Doran a regular 3hard? I hear talk of Heal, Bailey, Culllen playing for Australia in the future, what about Doran?

I've heard he's a big spinner of the ball, do you know what kind of action he has?

Also, what is the TV coverage of the Domestic game like?

Yes Doran is a regular player for Queensland, but he had a pretty poor season last year (not surprising on the Gabba really), and if he doesnít show some form will probably find his place under pressure from the offie Simpson. I havenít seen him bowl, so canít comment on that unfortunately.

TV coverage for domestic cricket here is the absolute pits (one of the reasons I havenít seen Doran bowl). Last season we got some of the one-dayers plus the Pura Cup final. This season we havenít even had any one-dayers shown yet (they are showing a full day of horse racing on channel 9 today FFS). Even the (ABC) radio coverage to date has been pretty poor, generally they show various interviews with some sporting identity with brief descriptions from random games from time to time. We will get all of the internationals though.

I should probably cough up and get sat TV, but donít spend enough time in front of the box to justify it. Iíd be interested to hear from Collingwood5 what the pay TV coverage is like, and whether he thinks itís worthwhile.

What you talking about - they (WA) only scored 20-odd runs more than us against the Vics, with three current internationals playing for them! WA will also be advantages in that the Vic batting is considerably weaker than the line-up we faced.

SA will prevail (he says as Tas are currently thrashing us around the park)...

You only get the Ford Ranger Cup on sat TV (Austar) and the KFC Twenty20 BigBash for domestic cricket. Internationally you get random series. Although even then they don't always show the whole series. Can be frustrating. They do show highlight packages of the games next day for those who don't have time to watch the whole game and wrap ups of the series. It will cost you $36.95 for a starter pack and an extra $14.95 for sport which includes the cricket. Again this is for Austar, Fox may be cheaper.

If you are a country bumpkin with insomia, worth every cent

20 odd more runs in far tougher conditions than a nice day on the Adelaide Highway

****ing pathetic from the Vics, although atleast Hodgey outscored Mike Hussey

Katich taking Noffke to the cleaners at the moment - 28 off his last two overs!

I would have thought D Hussey would be moving ahead of Hodge in the pecking order now.

Queensland are playing NSW in the Pura Cup today, and Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson are showing ominous form leading into the test series with Sri Lanka. Stuart Clark returned good figures taking 3 for 79 off 27 overs, but he was solidly outperformed by his teammate Brett Lee, who returned figures of 113/0 off his 27 overs. Later on, Mitchell Johnson has shown why he's one of the top young bowlers in international cricket today, returning 135/0 off 32 overs. Sri Lanka must be watching this performance and feeling fear at this display of Aussie pace.

Qld were bowled out for 467, Stuart Clark, Michael Clarke and Stuart MacGill all taking 3 wickets. Matthew Hayden top scored with 179.

NSW in reply are 420/4, with Katich 217 not out, and Brad Haddin 61 not out. Symonds, Sullivan, Noffke all taking 1 wicket.

Katich sticking it to the selectors. Lee and Johnson embarassing the selectors.

*Sigh*, I have some sad news to convey. News sadder to me because I'm a New South Welshman, and this is a topic that's very close to me. So I'll say it quickly and be done with it. Opening the innings for Victoria

First innings: Brad Hodge 2(6) b Inness
Second Innings: Brad Hodge 0(1) c Pomersbach b Inness

BWAHAHAHAHAHA *bangs hand on table* BWAHAHAHAHAHA
