19-year-old Tom Haines, a late addition to the Sussex squad to play Durham, has scored a hundred.

Was just about to post that. He's considered our best batting prospect for a while, though if Salt can get a hundred it must be flat

While a hundred is always an admirable achievement, it does seem that some players really get the breaks, capitalising on golden opportunities, while others - Michael Burgess at Sussex being a case in point - seem to have to put in some really hard graft to eventually earn recognition.

He's still averaging over 45 isn't he?

Haines' recent 2nd XI scores on his cricinfo page weren't suggesting that he was in particularly good form, but well done on seizing the opportunity.

18 year old Prithvi Shaw scores his 6th FC century in 11 games versus West Indies A at Beckenham- a counter attacking 188 off 169 balls (got his century off 74). That after India A conceded a 250 run lead in the first innings.

This is not first class but pretty cool.

Tres scored a ton on his return to cricket today in our seconds. His partner also made a ton. So what is interesting? His partner is 26 years younger than him.

Not quite a century but 17 year old Ben Charlesworth scored 77* at Bristol on a day when certain teams around the country were struggling to get to that sort of score.

19 year old Shubman Gill gets 115 on Day 1 of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His India U-19 captain and India opener-in-waiting Prithvi Shaw misses out with a 66-ball-98.

Excuse my ignorance, is that a fc competition?

No issues- it's the premier domestic List A tournament- I made a note of it in the Indian domestic cricket thread.

Shaw finally gets his century. Has basically gone into full meltdown on not being selected for the last Test at the Oval.

His last 3 List A innings are 129 (81), 60 (53) and 98 (66).

Shaw makes a debut 100 off 98 balls. He now has centuries on Ranji, Duleep, India A and India debuts.
