Derby - Rampaul WI & Viljoen SA
Durham Essex - Harmer SA Glamorgan - Ingram SA Gloustershire Hampshire - Abbott, Rossouw SA Edwards WI Kent - Kuhn SA Lancs - Chanderpaul WI & Vilas SA Leicestershire Middlesex Northants - Levi SA Nottinghamshire Somerset Surrey Sussex - Van Zyl & Weise SA Warwicks - Elliot NZ Worcestershire Yorkshire Levi may be qualified by now. Think everyone else is qualified somehow through the EU, dual national, parentage or residency. Not sure about Ingram at Glamorgan (think he has resigned for two more years but not for championship cricket). Think Ervine was originally a kolpak probably qualified by now. One other change which has been brought to the attention of players before the season concerns “mock fielding” – a deliberate attempt by a fielder to deceive the batsman. That is now covered by Law 41, Unfair Play – and will also be punished with a five-run penalty. I am not keen on this one. If bowlers can attempt to deceive the batsmen why can't fielders. |

Good point, well made. Also, enforcement will require the umpire to guess what a fielder was thinking and will inevitably result in many incorrect decisions.

Suspect 'mock fielding' will be very difficult to adjudicate. Just think of the multiple replays TV pundits get for football 'diving' incidents - often without finally reaching a consensus. In most cases County umpires will get a 'one off' opportunity to view such events - tricky, to say the least.

Is this really a serious problem within cricket? Nothing better to do?

I was under the impression that Brad Wheal at Hants was in a similar position, but now he's popped up playing for Scotland in their recent World Cup qualifiers. |

A quick google search found this on cricinfo: McKerr has a British passport but the ECB's tightening of qualification rules means that, because he will arrive in the UK after his 18th birthday, he must serve a longer qualification period. However, he will only be 25 by the time he is eligible. Pillans, who has secured an ancestral visa giving him the right to work in the UK, will be 31 but an an insider told ESPNcricinfo, "Mathew believes he has a better chance of playing for England in seven years' time than he does of playing for South Africa. He is not even in a franchise team here." Similarly with Brad Wheal from the Daily Echo: The South African British passport holder intends to qualify for England during the next seven years after being brought over from Durban by Dale Benkenstein, who spotted Wheal playing for Natal Under-19s in December. I guess Cricket Scotland don't have the same self imposed restrictions as the ECB. He has a Scottish mother. |

Yep, breezing along at the moment with plenty of delightful cover drives. Tongue taking plenty of flak.
Looking at the videos there are a couple that have gone through slip but played deliberately into the ground with soft hands. Where was that kind of sure-footedness outside off stump over the winter? |
