Kent duly finished off Northants today to move 5 points ahead of Sussex. If Warks only draw today against Durham, the leading three teams will be separated by just twelve points, with the rest trailing well behind. It could be a nailbiting final three weeks.

It's been a much improved season across all formats. They could still finish the season empty-handed but it's made a very pleasant change that they've been in the mix at the business end of all competitions.

This is his fourth first-class game. He has played two for Leeds/Bradford MCCU, one for Derbyshire, and now one for Middlesex.

So three different clubs in his first four games, which you would think might be some sort of record.

Gloucestershire’s Ben Charlesworth must surely be worth a mention as he passes 50 for the second successive match. Aged just 17, he has been granted permission to start the school term late so he can play in these games!

Ended up with 8 and probably the pivotal moment in the promotion battle. Having taken the upper hand, Sussex's batsman failed for the second time in 3 games to all but guarantee promotion for Warks and Kent assuming they both turn their dominant positions into victories.

Good results today for Kent, with the win over Middx and Sussex losing to Durham. Sussex face Warks next, while Kent have Glamorgan.

Neil Dexter(!) opening the bowling: 7-6-1-1.

Must be kicking himself about that run he gave up.

61 all out.

Durham's lowest ever FC score. Previously 67.

That is a high score for Durham. Looking to beat it this time. Makes Somerset look good!

Looks like Sussex are giving it a go, currently 14-3 but probably more like 14-4 given they had to open with Briggs as I believe Haines is not available.

Seems like Durham are trying to re-create this Test between Australia and Pakistan.
