No points have been deducted. the pitch panel said that the pitch was "below standard".

http://www.nottinghampost.com/points...ail/story.html

Despite the quality of the pitch, it was an interesting game. Like Arachibutyrophobic, I would prefer to watch a game like that – maybe not every time – that a high scoring "bore draw" which the Leicester/Glamorgan game seems to be turning out to be.

I thought today that only one ball misbehaved and that was the one which dismissed Wessels, so I'm not going to blame him for edging it to slip. Taunton on Sunday, so if our batsmen can't make runs there, they can't make them anywhere.

Because Hales is abysmal in the four day game. He hasn't a clue. You know that, we all know that.

Still, anything to complain eh?

I'll grant you it's an interesting decision to let him go to Worcs but he was truly abysmal last year.

If Hales in the answer I don't want to see the question.

I will agree with you on that he was awful, I just thought he did that to get a IPL contract so let's see what he does for Worcester

Last season was more of a blip than people seem to acknowledge - until that point he'd been consistently good for an opening batsman at one of the seam & swing friendlier grounds on the circuit:

2009: average 40.6
2010: average 35.6
2011: average 47.0
2012: average 34.2
2013: average 13.9

I'm intrigued to know why Hales chose second division Worcester over 1st division and Twenty20 champions Northants.

Yes i do, i think he went to newell asked to play in the ipl becuase thats where the money is, newell said no, so hales threw is toys out of the pram. Hales is to good a player to play that bad, so they both sat down and thrashed out a deal so everyone happy.

Hales doesnt get a IPL contract then gets picked in the 1st match has one good knock one bad knock then hes dropped. Something is not right here, but i can only guess and Notts CCC facebook page, 33 comments 32 against 1 for, is that you yams

I usppose playing for Northants meant he could feasibly damaged Notts position in the same league.

As reported last week Hales played in the 2nds along with Samit, against MCC Young Players (in Trophy and Championship games) and got the massive totals of 31 (T), 1 and 43*. A little less ego and a little more application.

I'm not questioning the debatable move to loan him out. I imagine that's what all your positive FB comments are referring too....

What I find staggering is that you believe a professional cricketer was failing on purpose to secure an IPL contract. The notion is sheer lunacy.

Ultimately it sums up the differences between us two and while I consistently shake my head at your posts. You're in dreamland, an absolute World of your own. A World where conspiracy theory's are embraced and the impossible becomes the norm.

My cousin is very similar in point of view. I can't be in his company for longer than a few hours without wanting to strangle him.

Just a few quick questions....

1. 9/11. Al-Queda or Bush trying to secure the presidency?
2. Diana. Car crash or taken out by MI5 at Royal's request?
3. Moon landings. Real or Universal studios?

Cheers.

How do you know i am not your cousin

Thats rubbish yams if a player doesn't want to play and wants out what does he do? plays crap just look at most of the players at your team man utd. They never played for moyes

It happens all the time in sport they engineer a move and hales had a batting average of 13, come on yams something wasn't right poor season average 25 but not 13. He wanted to play in the IPL where you get and i dont blame him. Why did newell play him in the 1st game did ok then out, its not as though Jacques mully and lumb are setting the world on fire. Something is not right and the Facebook fans 44 comments only 1 in favor its got to be you

your questions no idea i am just a thick miner from Bestwood

I'm not sure why loaning him out is an issue. This way he gets some cricket and the chance to build some confidence against 2nd division attacks and he comes back for what he does best, t20.

He is a talented player but there is no reason to suggest we would have done any better than Wessels or Jacques given his poor form last season. The loan gives him a chance to build some momentum before he takes over from Jacques.
