There was uneven bounce at one end in particular. To be fair, Notts were a bit unlucky that Patel didn't take a few more wickets; though having said that, any team who go in with Patel as their sole spinner are rather courting the possibility of not taking any wickets on day 4.

He's been playing a heck of a lot of cricket both for Notts 2s and for Lincolnshire - he's racked up 10 matches for those since April 28. But only on one occasion has he taken more than 1 wicket in an innings.

Got lucky against Derbyshire. Why is Notts' 1st XI a closed shop? After last summer you would have thought the batting might get a shake up yet Lumb is still in every week despite averaging under 30 for each of the past few seasons. What's the point in having an academy if you never give the youngsters from it much of a chance? Our batting again this summer has been patchy with the lower order rescuing the experienced top order time and again.

The bowling lacks something without Broad and Ball but that is to be expected. It would be nice to see Ben Kitt given a chance after the failure of Fletcher, Gurney, Wood and Hutton to take 20 Derbyshire wickets. Who saw that coming? Answer: everyone. What a one paced attack. Why does Gurney get selected every week?

Should Notts get promoted they'll be favourites for the drop next year unless someone changes the tam between now and then. The experienced heads aren't getting better and we won't have Captain Fantastic to dig us out of holes once more.

32 overs to take 6 wickets to avoid another frustrating draw.

Thanks, SS. It's a fairly advanced system, with a camera placed behind the wicket at each end.

Best wishes to any and all Outlaws heading to Lords tomorrow! Absolutely gutted not to be there for this one, hope you have a great day and you play your part in helping the Notts boys bring the cup back up the M1 to the real home of cricket :-)

was a great day out, but now I am toast! Notts fans' were fantastic but a shame about all of the empty seats. Thought Surrey would have a bigger following but seemingly not.

Glad you had a great day RR and nice to hear from you. Does sound a shame about the empty seats, but what great entertainment and a fantastic win to witness live for those who made the effort and it sounds like the Notts lads really appreciated it!

I got up at half 4am after a 10hr bus journey got us into Popayan at 11:30pm the previous night. For some reason I couldn't get radio commentary until the last hour (and could hear the support!) so was hitting refresh on my phone every 10 seconds for about 7hrs and flicking between cricinfo and bbc cricket scorecards and twitter. Was like the old days of watching matches on Ceefax, except Ceefax didn't seem to repeatedly jump back 2 overs like those both did.

It did mean I was able to start celebrating 6hrs earlier than everyone else due to duckworth Lewis adjusted local time though :-)

Luke Fletcher has now been ruled out for the season due to the head injury he suffered. Sad for him, I hope it doesn't become a career ender.
