A bad game could certainly see him drop off a fair way but he's not had a bad game yet this summer. Instead he has relentlessly worked his way through the WI batting. I'm not sure he's always bowled at his very best. There were too many short balls to Gayle yesterday, for example. Good work updating the latest rankings, Michelle.

KP has had an excellent series overall, yet could drop below Sangakarra into 4th place, unless he keeps piling on the runs versus India.

Harmison has slipped backwards, as would have been expected. The England bowlers have shared the wickets, with Monty getting the majority and bounding up the rankings accordingly.

Amongst the batsmen, Cook has cemented his place in the top 20, Strauss has slipped back and Colly and Bell have stabilised their positions rather than enhancing them.

Come on EC it is funny, you must admit. Anderson is a hopeless batsman but Cook hasn't played enough one-day cricket to have a meaningful score.

Edit: and just read the latest bottom of the table rankings to see that Cook has shot up 19 points and now Anderson is trailing him by a substantial 39 places.
