The typical Pakistan collapse. Absolutely diabolical batting on a pretty good wicket compared to how it normally deteriorates over there.

But Herath is probably the most under-rated bowler of the last decade. I have never seem him have a bad game in tests, quality.

Herath is quality. He doesn’t do anything very exciting looking but he’s a master of accuracy with subtle changes of angle and he turns the ball a fair bit on surfaces like this one.

Bad start to batting without Khan and Misbah for Pakistan.

Both sides collapsed it's just Pakistan collapsed a bit more. Must have been something wrong with the pitch on the last day.

What are Pakistan's hopes for building their test and limited overs sides in 2018?

I personally believe the test side should look something like:

1. S. Aslam
2. A. Shehzad (give the lad a consistent run in the side)
3. A. Ali
4. U. Salahuddin
5. F. Alam (I know it's a probably a fantasy that he will ever be picked again)
6. S. Ahmed wk/c
7. F. Ashraf (decent FC record so could be a good pace bowling all rounder)
8. M. Amir
9. Y. Shah
10. M. Abbas
11. H. Ali

I'm just leaving out Shafiq because in my world, Fawad comes into the side. PLus there's space for one of the bowlers being rotated out and playing any number of Pakistani spinners that can bat a bit. There's a lot to build on in the NZ series onwards.

The ODI side pretty much picks itself:

1. F. Zaman
2. I. Ul-Haq
3. B. Azam
4. S. Malik (have him slightly up the order)
5. S. Ahmed wk/c
6. I. Wasim
7. F. Ashraf
8. S. Khan
9. M. Amir
10. R. Raees
11. H. Ali

There are a lot of players that can be rotated in and out of that side, with the likes of Asghar, that other lefty spinner, Junaid and so on all having a shout. The opener slot is also open for someone to partner with Zaman.
