Gotta laugh, it was the bowlers who won it!

As a unit. Yes. Man of series was Kp and still England's only man of the match in world final was kieswetter.

Interesting his first choice keeper from a composite side won't be keeper for England. I am with Kp here. Although going to Durban without a spin bowler is dumb unless you count elgar.

I struggled to make an XI to be honest but it could include Alviro as an opener, Robin the spinner and Charl an all-rounder.

Ah, is that why he missed his Big Bash match?

Herald Sun

Free agents like English discard Kevin Pietersen could be signed by minnows Zimbabwe or the West Indies under a proposal to revive Test cricket.

The radical concept is among several equalisation options floated by Australian Cricketers’ Association president Greg Dyer.

“It’s pretty out there, and that is, the idea of having players who are transferable between countries on a much simpler basis with far less concern for qualification,” Dyer told the Herald Sun.

“Maybe each team is given a limit of three players.

“What if Kevin Pietersen was playing Test cricket for say Zimbabwe? He’s clearly a Test match player and he’s wasted to the game. I use him as an example, but what if there were the opportunities for the international transfers of players?

“I’m looking at this to try and get an equalisation.

Yeah, that isn't going to work. If the Windies would be willing to pay for KP to play for them, then why not just pay the likes of Gayle, Bravo and co properly to play for them? To save Test cricket the ICC need to put money towards the less well-off nations being able to afford central contracts worth enough to encourage the best players to play for their countries rather than worldwide franchises.

That would be mega. Zimbabwe and West Indies could become a retirement pot for players no longer good enough for their own (or one represented) country.

This seems to be rather similar to what already happened with Pietersen (when he left SA for England) ... only with a shorter qualification period.

Yup, she certainly is.

Seems a good idea to me, KP would be more than welcome to play for Ireland if England don't want him.

Which they clearly don't.

I wonder if he could cover the three lions tattoos with shamrocks.

Pietersen could set up his own country and pay people to play for him.

Graeme Smith would be up for it.
