Yes, if perhaps they'd eked out a lead of 50 or so after having India 102/3 then there might have bwnn a chance. Once India got to parity, it was only ever going to end as it did.

Who knows. Probably if India had played an extra bowler then after Thakur's injury the third seamer would have got to bowl more than perhaps he would have otherwise. I haven't seen this match, but on some pitches the new ball is by far the best weapon and having more seamers justs mean more of the defensive overs are bowled by seamers. For the fifth bowler sometimes it just depends on who your most accurate one is. There's also the luck (this has been my main source of wickets in my own bowling career, for example) of happening to be bowling when the batsman has an umprompted stupid moment.

India have only announced the squad for the first couple of games of the five-match series, starting Sunday (October 21) in Guwahati.

Cricket pitches should be more sporting than this one. Kohli and Rohit make an absolute mockery of a chase of 323.

The pitch was just as good when the Windies batted on it. Looks like their total was way below par. India could probably have chased 400.
