So last chance to catch Sangakkara and Pietersen this summer.

Surrey are going to top the ticket sales this summer aren't they?

The England great is building a house in the Kruger National Park all of next summer. He'll obviously be available to take the call from the SA selectors and given the saffers recent performances, they certainly need him.
He hasn't played a game since February.

Cameo performance on the Apprentice tonight. Appreciated by the contestants.

What a guy!

This is the first time in years I've been jealous of an Apprentice treat. KP stole the show!

Looks like he's going to retire from playing at the end of the year.

I'm not surprised, he can barely run any more. It'll still be a sad day when we won't be able to see him bat again.

England still haven't covered his absence. Could/should have had 3-4 good years of test cricket out of him. Shame really.

His body would not have handled test cricket. He was sensible to become a gun for hire and work on his golf handicap. Did he eventually win a franchise tournament? Hope so - he deserves it to add to his international honours. It is a shame it ended badly and will tarnish his reputation as one of our greatest ever entertainers (and he was very very good)

Was? I suspect the Melbourne Renegades would say he still is after the way he destroyed them today.

I know his England career has gone and he's struggled with injury but he was genuinely the best batsman I saw in county cricket last year. Small sample size and everything as it was one innings I saw, but he was a different class to anyone else on that pitch and frigging Sangakkara was playing in that game. An absolute privilege to watch.

KP is becoming unlistenable on commentary.

If he's going to go down that path, hopefully he keeps hanging out in Australia so I only have to hear it once every four years.

He does seem like the sort of person BT Sport might be interested in should they ramp up their cricket coverage.

I think we might be safe as I doubt Sky will want to upset the ECB by employing him and BT won't have anything other than Australian cricket. Good to see you back, by the way.

Becoming??? He's utterly obnoxious, not that we should be surprised.

Needs to make a name on the Aussie commentary circuit because I can't see him getting one in England let alone SA.

I suppose he might sneak into the T20 team here but I hope not.

Great player, definitely an asshole.

Can’t believe England missed out on 5 years of his skills for Cooks crap captaincy and Strauss the **** manager.

And despite missing out on several years of his international career, he was still England's second highest run-scorer across all forms of the game combined.

Thanks for giving so many of us so much pleasure, KP, and looking forward to hearing more from you in the commentary box.

Saw this on Facebook, the ECB obviously feel it's safe to acknowledge his existence now.

England still haven’t adequately replaced him.

Isn't this his nonsense? Isn't he actually the only one from our strong team who has been replaced? I have not checked but I am pretty sure KP played most of his matches at number four. Well now we have Root at four who I would guess has a better record there.

The players we have not replaced are strauss, Trott and bell.

Bit worried about this post because i am too lazy to check stats today.

I checked....Root averages about four more at .03 lower strike rate. So yes, Root has replaced KP. Now where can we find replacements for the irreplaceable?
