South Africa v Australia, 4 tests starting March 1st

Australia has announced an unchanged line-up from its last Ashes encounter.

Are they lending their players to RSA or to South Africa?

Why do they need to borrow players?

The visitors win a crucial toss on a flat pitch. Expect Smith and co. to score heavily. SA drop a pace bowler for Maharaj. Australia will love this.

Somewhat surprised to see Bancroft still in the Aussie team, not remotely surprised to see him dismissed cheaply.

He must 'train smart.' Renshaw with 2 tons in his last two FC games. I'd imagine they'll fly him over, even if it's a quick or Lyon who gets injured.

TBF, Renshaw had a horror last couple of months in 2017 and before his 170 and 112 had really not done anything to be picked.

Yeah, while it was probably an error to have dropped him on FC instead of Test form, if he had of had that run of scores during the Ashes it would have kept him out of the side for years, whereas now he's looking better every time Bancroft fails, who hasn't reached 30 in 8 innings now. At least Renshaw doesn't get out lbw to straight ones. That's unforgiveable for an opener at this level.

They showed a day 1 stat that around 235-6 was a traditional par score at Durban. So therefore the Aussies are around par at the moment. Depends on whether the likes of Cummins, Starc and Lyon are good for a bit of a dash. They haven't been bad in recent times although the SA attack are a step up quite markedly from England.

Yep, that's a pathetic effort from the locals.

Just turned up the volume to hear Mark Nicholas on commentary - put it back on mute!!

Makes no sense either. He's neither South African, or Australian, or a specialist commentator. He's a cheesy game show host or sub-rate Piers Morgan at best.

Pitches won't be as lively as they were in the Indian series though.

Bancroft definitely on shaky ground.

Showed their records in the Ashes but more a commentary on how the English bowlers made them look good. The commentators rubbing it in about how hot it is while we're snowed in.

Australia cruising atm, with Smith impossible to get out again.

It is very hot here too.

Amazing to get snow in spring.

Shaun Marsh LBW, but not given by the incompetent umpire and Faf's brain fade in wasting in a review in the early overs against Bancroft has cost Rabada a scalp.

Test cricket is dead? Maybe there'll be more at the weekend.

It's still winter. It's not unusual to get heavy snow in April and I've walked in blizzards in the Lake District as late as early May.

The snow in London is reasonably exceptional though, no matter what time of the year.
