Not that you can have a bad win for Hampshire.

We've got Gloucester in a friendly today, here's the team:

N Pothas (wkt / captain)
C Benham
M Lumb
J Crawley
S Ervine
G Lamb
M Brown
S Udal
J Bruce
B Taylor
D Griffiths

Interesting to see that Pothas is captain rather than Udal.

In other news, I saw in the paper that Carberry is out for four weeks! Looks like we'll have to put up with Michael Brown instead...

Here's the quote from the press release... (thrown in the Tremlett bit too for good measure)

Andrew Nealon made the following comments on the player’s current state of fitness.

Michael Carberry:

“Michael is undergoing an intensive rehabilitation
programme to overcome a niggling persistent injury. His success last season meant enough batting to develop this problem & his England A representation over the winter meant he hasn’t had time to beat the injury just yet. A
decision was made with Michael’s best interests at heart to allow him the time he needs now so he can perform at 100% on his return, for himself and for our Club. His program is all going to plan and we look forward to
Michael being fully fit and returning to the team in mid-May.”

Chris Tremlett:

“Chris is working extremely hard to overcome the lower back injury he sustained on the tour to Australia. At present we are unable to specify a time frame for his return but we are confident that he will make a successful return to the side in the near future.”

4 wickets? Maybe I was right for once!

********. That doesn't sound too good.

As for Tomlinson taking four wickets against Cardiff Uni, vaughan's #1 fan, I'm afraid I can't take that too seriously. He's always taken wickets in the 2nd XI and that side were probably weaker than a county 2nd team...

Has anyone got any complete scores for the Gloucs v Hampshire friendly games? The Hampshire website doesn't mention anything at all; the Gloucs website has provided a few updates but not the final score.

According to news at the AGM last night, neither of them is seriously damaged so hopefully not too long.

Mascarenhas is in the squad for tomorrow and Ervine is expected back on Sunday.

Squad for tomorrow is Sunday's side plus Dimi and Brown. So I expect the side to look something like this:
Adams
Brown
Crawley
Lumb
Benham
Pothas
Lamb
Dimi
Warne
Bruce
Taylor

Anything interesting come out of the AGM then, vaughan's #1 fan?

Not a great deal really...

Lots of stuff on the new developments which was the most interesting bit - we'll have the second largest capacity of a ground after Lords. Especially interesting was talking about the pitch and how we're now 9th in the 4 day league - ahead of Edgbaston and Riverside - jumped up from 18th last year. And some plans on changing the exits so people can get away from the place on big match days.

Most of the cricket stuff was in the Radio Solent broadcast afterwards. Mainly about the depth of the squad and how much KP will play (not much, but at least a couple of one day games in early May). Oh, and Warney isn't planning to play 20-20 but I think we could have guessed that as well...

KP isn't available until early May. He should play 7th May v Ireland and possibly the Championship game starting on the 9th v Lancashire... if he can get into the side!

And I'd say Ervine was far from certain - if he isn't 100% then I don't reckon he's an automatic pick.

It's normally only the team and 12th man that travel to away games.
