Well the side for tomorrow has been announced: Carberry, Lumb, Benham, Voges, Ervine, Mascarenhas, Pothas, Lamb, Tremlett, Bruce, Taylor.

I forgot about Lumb when naming my own side a couple of posts up. Pothas and Taylor are the only blokes over 30 in that side, although it's not exactly a ridiculously young side either as there are quite a lot of 27/28 year olds in there...

Seen the warne quote about Benham being a future England player. Wondered if this is just Warne hyperbole or has some basis in reality?

Was that the game against Notts back in 2003?

Was reading a bit of Udal's book last night, he reckons that Kenway should have become one of Hampshire's greatest ever batsmen...

Basically not really caring much about the game and his incredibly low level of fitness! Had all the talent, shame really...

Bruce gets 3 penalty points for running down the wicket. I thought if a bowler ran down the wicket he got a warning and if he did it again wasn't allowed to bowl. Is the penalty points a new thing? How many times was he warned?

Penalty posts have always been there, just not used that much. And as Bruce got them then so will his captain - presumably Pothas if it was in a Twenty20?

It was from the Championship game against Durham, when he was batting. He was the third Hampshire player to do it so gets the punishment...

Just read the bit in Shaggy's book when he says Warne wants the opposition to hate Hampshire... in a way I admire that, but do we really want the umpires to hate us too?

Hey all I'm saying is that with a little bit of siege mentality and claiming to be the victim of Umpire bias Hampshire could go all the way in the county championship.

Thanks for the translation... I don't speak fussball (tm: Jon W).

Hampshire are always bottom of the fair play league anyway...
