I think people (myself included) might have been getting ahead of themselves after his 1000 runs in Div 2

The Worcs batting has been beyond dire during their time at Headingley. Ben Smith has managed a grand total of one run in three innings, whilst Moore's never bothered the scorers for too long. Not excusing the rest of them, but they should be on the way out, probably for Mitchell and Moeen Ali

I think it is also something to do with the fact that last year, Worcestershire won most games on the bakc of enormous 1st innings scores, batting first and then Zaheer and Mason would bowl teams out, after a huge score from Jacques. Now, there are a few things working against that this year:
1) They have fielded first when the pitch is best, particularly at new Road where it just collapses after Day 2 and 100% on Day 4. No side would ever bat ouit a dra won a full Day 4.
2) No Zaheer Khan, big blow.
3) No Mason, hammer blow.

It is nice to see that the BBC researched their article well and show a picture of New Road under water in the Winter!

Some interesting stats on the New Road floods:

Don't think today's weather will help much.

Looks like they're going to try and get New Road fit for Sunday's Championship match vs Kent. Bowlers will be queueing up to bowl on that wicket!
