Pre-World Cup matches and warm-ups thread

Thought I'd start a thread for the plethora of ODIs and other games before the WC. West Indies hammering Ireland today - 381/3.

I see this is a tri-series with Bangladesh, who lost to Ireland's A side yesterday.

Was looking at Ireland's record in ODIs back to and including 2016

Beaten non-Test nations (9 or so games), about 50-50 with Afghanistan, but lost all games against the rest of the Test nations in the 50 over format.

Have to question if they are worthy of ODI status let alone Test status, not even the odd "shock" in the past 2.333 years

Well they've just extended ODI status to some more sides, so not much chance of Ireland being stripped of that any time soon.

Bangladesh canter to an 8-wicket victory against the Windies.

Meanwhile, Smith and Warner have made their returns for the Aussies in some non-official games against New Zealand.

Warner got a duck today and Smith 89no off 77 balls.

It seems the Aussies know what their top 5 is but not which order to play them in. Today it was Finch, Warner, Khawaja, Marsh, Smith. In the previous game Khawaja, Finch, Warner, Smith, Marsh. Given the lack of bowling in that group, can you play all of them?

Looks like a straight battle between Maxwell and Stoinis for the number 6 role.

Well there's three emergency bowling options there just not anyone you'd expect to be bowling every game. The problems more that you wouldn't be that confident of Maxwell or Stoinis getting through 10 overs even if fit, I'd play both personally and drop one of those 5 in the top order, they'll presumably be playing Starc and Cummins so there's at least some batting down the order.

This tournament sponsored by a cement company but the Irish batters not getting stuck today, as they are on course of a decent total in their second game v the Windies.

World Cup participants Afghanistan given a bit of a thrashing by non World Cup participants Ireland yesterday.

Fairly obvious there's not a lot between those two, plus Scotland and Zimbabwe too.

Finished 322/8.

Should give Scotland a chance.

Strong finish from Lanka.

No Malinga is a big boost - and the boundaries at the Grange are hardly the MCG.

Scotland 77/2 off 17.

Think this may be 50 runs to many.

Are England obliged by the ICC to play two more warm-up games? I think their preparation has been perfect and, as such, I don't see what they have to gain (other than Dawson and possibly Wood) by two further matches.

I'd like to see Moeen and Stokes get some more time in the middle. I'd be promoting them up the order for the last warm-up games. Woakes as well.

I caught it at 132/3 but that must've been the highpoint as they ended up getting thrashed, As did Ireland in the second game v Afghanistan.

They had a revised total which meant they needed 17 rpo for 5 overs..
