Some things never change. Somerset 150 for 8 before the tail give something competitive!

Enjoying the live stream from Chelmsford. Does anyone know if Sky have any plans to show some games?

No insight but perhaps just the final? Too much back to back international cricket on to show much BW coverage I guess.

Doesn't look like there will be any batting points in the Durham v Yorkshire game.

Good work by 18-year-old Joey Evison at Notts, making 38 and then taking 3-38 in his second first-class game - having scored 45 on debut last year.

I am going to miss the Overton brothers bowling together. I just hope Craig signs but sadly with the hundred etc that big counties can offer we will become feeder clubs. 7 for 54 for the twins today.

conditions for batting at Durham seem to have improved. Only 2 wickets fell in Durham's 2nd innings so far 1 of them a run out.

Good practice for the twins for when they have to face Glamorgan in division 2 in 2022?

In other news, Hameed has made some runs for Notts.

I think I miss Lockdown, at least then I didn't have to observe Sussex batting collapses. Where they'd have been without Phil Salt, who knows? But he continues to impress me and can't be long before he represents England in one format or another.

Now England finally aren't looking for Test openers, old and new pretenders turn up in droves with runs:

Hameed 68 and 30*

Slater 104*

Azad 58

Yates 88

Browne 61

Salt 68 and 80

Gubbins 192 (though he came in at 3)

Does it help not having to deal with conditions in early May?

Good mixture this round of Division One sides playing against Division Two.

End of season tables might provide evidence if there is a bit gap between the two divisions.

Just noticed Bresnan got a century on his Warwickshire debut.

I think it might also show which Div 1 sides are being held together by imports too.

Yes, good point that.

It's going to be interesting. Because however teams fare, they will still be in their designated divisions next year - even if say, a Division 2 side wins the whole thing, or a Division 1 side does terribly (which I think may happen in at least one case).

Also shows those who have international players. It is interesting. We are lucky Craig has come back or we would be without 4 of our first choice bowlers. As it is we are just missing Gregory, leach and Bess. I am guessing most counties would not be amused to lose their two best spin bowlers!
