Vitality Blast 2020 thread

Tomorrow the Vitality Blast gets underway.

This year it will be in three groups of 6 with sides playing 10 games.

The short time-frame means that from tomorrow until September 20 there will be something to follow every day, including the period September 6-9 when the last round of Bob Willis Trophy matches is wedged in.

The vast majority of games start at 2pm or around 6.30pm. I assume counties will still be able to live steam these games as well (no idea if they can or not if they clash with a Sky fixture) so there will certainly be a huge amount to listen and/or watch over the next 25 days.

What is the qualification process? Any QF's or just 4 through to Finals Day?

Not far away from Headingley and it's throwing it down. Doesn't look good for the Sky live game tonight.

Laurie Evans has effectively joined Surrey now, technically on loan so ineligible to play against Sussex in either T20 or Bob Willis Trophy matches. (He was initially due to return to Hove from his loan spell to play for Sussex in the T20.)

Keaton Jennings now has the highest score (108) by a Lancashire player in T20.

Sky Cricket channel should be renamed Sky Bad Light & Rain.

Durham actually played the full 40 overs. Now they probably wish they hadn't.

Just enjoying the live stream of the rain falling at Hove.

Does anyone know - when there is a SKY T20 Blast or international game on, are the counties still allowed to run the live streams of their games that are on at the same time (I donít mean the same game, I mean other games that are on simultaneously), or not?

Kent match abandoned with Kent batting 4.1 overs. in their reply. 5 overs is a result so you would think that they could have stayed out for 5 balls.

Kent were well ahead of the DL target for the end of 5 overs as well (about twice that total).

There were also two wides during those 4.1 overs, without which they'd have been within three balls of completing 5 overs! I can only guess it must have been absolutely hammering down at the time of the abandonment, although it's a bit strange that they stayed out long enough to change ends for the fifth over, then only bowled one further ball.

I find it strange too especially as they are television the CPL live. Sky could easily have televised a Blast game and put the CPL game on the red button or an alternative channel.

It was absolutely lashing it down. They would have gone off much sooner were it the first innings or more than 5 overs completed. It was more surprising the 5th over even started to be honest.

Watching the livestream of Durham v Notts.

The weather is horrendous, a bit like Notts' bowling effort so far.

Terrible conditions to play in though and really small boundaries.
